Chapter 25: Chapter 25

SLAM!

I sat up with a jolt and stared with wide eyes at the bedroom door.

"What the fuck was that?" Dan croaked from across the room.

I shook my head but couldn't see in the dark. Beside me, Ava was fumbling. Her hand finally found mine and squeezed.

Our bedroom door flung open and dark shapes charged in. Hands ripped us up and away from each other. Ava and I screamed. Dan grunted like he was trying to fight, but I couldn't focus on anything. Bodies were everywhere, and I was being hoisted off the bed. I kicked and punched at whoever had me, but they only grunted and carried me out into the living room.

My captor threw me onto one of the couches, and I bounced a few times before scrambling to sit up. Icy terror flooded my veins, and my body went weak. Four men had invaded our room.

Ava was thrown on the couch next to me, and a man stood behind each of us, their hands on our shoulders holding us down. My skin crawled at the contact, and I fought off the urge to puke.
