Chapter 31: Part 2 - Myth Becomes Reality

Callie found herself moving downward at a fast speed. The earth parted before her and promptly closed up behind her. Darkness surrounded her. She reached out to stop her descent, but something wrapped around her hands and pulled them from the passing dirt. Panic started to set in until she realized that vines were controlling her descent and cushioning her from the rock and dirt.

Forcing herself to remain calm, Callie pulled her hands and arms close to her and closed her eyes. The descent was still fast, but the movement became a calm rocking motion. Focusing on the sounds around her, Callie noticed a low hum. Intently listening, she noticed a stream of voices moving past her.
