Chapter 50: Awakened

The nurse looked over the vitals and made notes on the computer. Her face was set as she worked. Indigo had eyes only for Callie. Jardan leaned against the window and watched the nurse.

Something about her posture had drawn his attention. His eyes narrowed in on her making a quiet phone call.

His gut told him something was going on, and they weren’t being told anything yet. That didn’t sit well with him. Keeping secrets was what got them all in this predicament. That had to change if they were going to survive as a race.

He was about to walk out to the nurse’s station when the doctor walked in. It wasn’t Stephen. While Stephen was focused on researching some way to help Callie, the young girl’s care had been placed under the care of one Dr. Aubrey Coleman.
