9. Life in another world (part two).

it was early in the morning, around 6'o clock,when I woke up from sleep.

I checked the lower bunk to see if Subaru could make it to bed last night, but to my surprise he wasn't there.

"Wonder where he could be?"

I said sarcastically

with a disappointed face I went to mits and picked her up,it seemed that just a little sleep was all she needed because she looks better now.

I carried her into my arms and walked out of the room in search of Subaru.While doing that I saw that the whole place seemed empty so I called out

"Uncle Withward,Aunty Lia,Aunt Layla"

"huh? that's weird"

including Uncle Withward the rest were some of the mansion's attendants but yet no one answered.

I kept on walking forward passing the way to my aunt's and mom's room,then I smelled something delicious

|...sniff, sniff...|

I could smell alot of food from afar off

"sniff,sniff"

mits sniffed it's nose too

"even you mits?, then they must have prepared something good"

I followed the smell all the way through the kitchen to the dining hall,and with each passing step the smell became stronger,and then I reached the mansion's parlour,but inside was dark

"alright mits we made it,but why is it dark?"

I said talking to her while stepping inside

but once I got another sniff of the delicacy waiting to be eaten by me I said while drooling

"well not even darkness can stop me from getting to my food"

and with that I entered into the room. As soon as I entered I heard a shout from alot of people and the lights went on with everyone in that room saying

"Happy birthday!!!"

Mits was startled a bit so it lept away from my hand

but unfortunately for me my brain couldn't process the information fast enough,I fell down to the ground with foam forming in my mouth and the last thing I heard before blacking out was

"oh gosh,I think we went a bit overboard"

Few minutes later:

"oh good he's waking up"

I opened my eyes to see Subaru above me and I saw that I was lying down with my head on my mom's lap

"what happened?"

I asked looking at Subaru,

Subaru turned to look at mom and aunt who seemed to be telling him something

"oh, spill it, got you,"

Subaru said and turned to me

"oh you just blacked out for about 10 minutes thanks to our Surprise birthday party"

Subaru said,and what he received after saying that was a knock to the head from both aunt and mom

and they both said

"we said 'don't tell him' not 'spill it' "

"oh so that's what that was about"

upon realizing what could have happened if something had gone wrong I said

"I appreciate the feeling behind it but please don't try that again I almost had an heart attack"

I said clenching my chest

"wait did you just say birthday party?"

I turned to look at Subaru who was holding his head because two big bumps was on it due to getting by both mom and aunt Subaru turned to look at aunt and she said

"there's no need hiding it now just tell him"

"yes, a surprise birthday party, everyone in the house were up all night preparing for it"

Subaru said standing up and turning to the back

"wait everyone?"

I said and got up with him to see everyone in the mansion not wearing their usual attendant's black and white clothes but rather coloured ones

"so that's why you didn't come to bed yesterday,but why is everyone dressed like that"

I said still confused

"oh ,that was me. I decided that since we are celebrating your birthday,today it can be like a day off for the household, besides it thanks to them that the birthday party is a success"

Aunt Rachel said petting mits her hands

and she continued

"so Ascimos, it's your birthday, there's only one more thing to do"

she said while still looking at the servants.

"got you"

I replied raising my two hands up I said

"alright everyone,let's party"

and with that the party officially began.

There's was cakes,drinks and even a pinnatia ,and most importantly alot of meat. I ate to my heart's contents ,the party was really fun mostly because I got to see the attendants not in their usual dress code ,there were some moment that did annoy me a bit, one of them which was some of the female servants were coming to look at me and some of them even pinched my cheeks saying

'what a cutie'

I had to find a way to escape by making up an excuse and crawling into under one table that was cover with a clothing but when I got in I saw Uncle Withward also there but before I could say anything he asked

"hey Ascimos,what are you doing here?"

he said still sitting down on the floor under the table

"oh ,I am trying to get away from the crowd"

I said trying to be as honest as I could be, because lying to Uncle Withward wasn't my style,no,that was Subaru's thing

"oh,you too"

Uncle Withward said removing a bit of the clothing covering the table to check the party

(imagine you were under a table that was cover with a long wrapper and you were peeking outside from time to time)

"for some reason,when I came out in my new clothes for the party,most of the female servants were looking at me differently,and I am someone that's gets nervous when I am the center of attention so I ran in here,if I hadn't,I'm pretty sure most of the ladies would have squeezed the life out of me"

he said dropping the clothing and turning to look at the me

|....Wow Uncle Withward,how dense can you be?....|

I thought to myself.

Uncle Withward was not only me and Subaru's attendants but he also served under my mom and aunt,he was about the same age with them when he started working here and according to my mom ,he became their attendants inorder to use them as a guide because he was to become my grandfather's personal assistant later on the family's personal attendant,he is not a old guy as many people would think,he is actually in his early thirty's with mom and aunt and outside his usual attendant's dress code he is a really handsome guy.

He is slim and tall and white in complexion, he has a blonde hair and yellow eyes, honestly I don't know how that's possible,but it seems any colour of hair is possible in this world,I haven't really gone out of the mansion but I am certain I am right due to the fact that most of the attendants (apart from Withward the rest were female) in the house had such bizarre eyes color and hair color and I was no exception.

Considering Uncle Withward attitude and character along with his appearance, there's little to no reason why the maids wouldn't look at him in such a way.

I said to him

"don't sweat it,I am pretty sure they are just stunned by your new look "

I said with a smile

"you think?"

he said seeming to be doubting me

"yeah I am sure"

"okay thanks,you know you are much more easier to talk to than Subaru,when I told him he began laughing and pointing at me,hmph,what a bully"

Uncle Withward said pouting his mouth

"please just forgive him,I am sure he didn't mean it"

As soon as I said that I heard a sound that resembles a glass cup being hit by a fork ,all the noise quieted down so I stopped talking to listen, even uncle Withward seemed to be paying attention.

"hello everyone,I am really happy and glad that you all could be here to celebrate with me and my family, even when you were asked to take the day off,you still came to the party"

|...so everyone here came on their own accord? wow I may have misjudged some of them...|

"and because of that I would give you guys tomorrow as a day off"

and with that everyone in the party clapped their hands

after the clapping was done aunt Rachel continued to speak

"and with that in mind I am glad to say we have reached the last event of the party,the unwrapping of gifts,will the star of the show please come out"

Aunt Rachel said while looking around for me when she didn't see me she said

"umm, Ascimos?"

Uncle Withward said to me

" I guess that's your queue Ascimos,you are the birthday boy"

he said looking at me with a smile

and with that I summoned up a bit of courage and got out of under the table

"oh,there he is,now Ascimos,go unwrap those gifts, everyone put their heart and soul into them,so you can't imagine how happy they would feel to see you open them up"

she said giving me a look that only me would understand ,and to interpret, it was

|... everyone's worked so hard to prepare them so don't screw this up by complaining about the present...|

if I were to go against my aunt wish, though she loves me to bits but that won't stop her from torturing me when mom's away. So no matter what I will see when I will open up the gifts,I have to be all smiles.

So with that resolution in my heart,I walked up to where the presents were and started opening them up one by one,it wasn't written the name of the person who may have sent a particular gift but by what is inside,I could somewhat tell who gave some of this examples were new Stockings with what seemed to be a durag, someone must have probably knitted it,and once I saw this I knew who exactly sent it and when i saw his expression as soon as I opened the present I knew it was Uncle Withward,I also got a clock that had a little bird in it,there were also a gift filled with a painting of me which was from Subaru,but there was one gift which strikes me it was a white snow coat and the designs resembled something from my previous life,I was so happy to see it but yet I couldn't guess who brought it so I asked

"Please who gave this to me?"

I asked looking around to see anyone suspicious,but then

"that would be me?"

I turned around to see my mom in a very beautiful red gown which complemented her hair,she looked stunning. After I heard it was her who gave me the coat I ran to her and hugged her real tight and then I said

"thanks mom"

then I looked up to her face still hugging her tightly,I asked

"how did you get it?"

"what do you mean?"

she asked

"I mean this coat ,it shouldn't be here...I mean it should be hard to find"

I said then releasing her

|...yeah it should be in my other world but not here...|

"well ,it wasn't only me. Subaru also helped, he said that one day you described a piece of clothing you would like to wear to him,and him loving painting,painted it on a board and gave it to me,and you were right,it is hard to find, probably because it doesn't exist,so I made it exist.i asked a very famous tailor who is a friend of mine and happened to owe me a favour to help make it"

|...for free of course,it is a favour after all...|

she said keeping the last part to her

"wow mom,you're the best"

I said with a smile on my face😁

"eh,ehm"

I heard the sound of someone pretending to cough and I looked back to see Subaru

"oh you too Subaru"

I said looking at him

"don't sweat it, you're welcome"

and like that the party continued.
