Countless colossal mountains pierced through the clouds, their bizarre nature captivating the countless curious masses of the world.
Floating islands hovered gracefully in the sky, shrouded in golden clouds that emitted an enigmatic aura, each symbolizing its unique importance.
The scene was both beautiful and tranquil.
"Beautiful," Azrael murmured, his eyes sparkling with wonder and a wide grin spreading across his face.
His expression piqued Elder Yang's curiosity, and as Azrael glanced downward, his grin grew even wider.
Below, the disciples of the Radiant Oblivion Sect soared through the skies on giant swords and boats, their calm yet joyful conversations blending seamlessly into the silent atmosphere.
Azrael quietly observed everything with pure awe and a deep sense of fulfillment.
In his previous life as a philologist, he had studied extensively about history, culture, and mythology.
Nearing the completion of his Ph.D. in philology before his untimely death, his knowledge was vast and well-rounded.
Yet, witnessing mythological elements come to life before his very eyes was beyond anything he had ever imagined.
Such wonders were a rare treasure he would never have experienced in a lifetime on the Blue Star, making this moment all the more surreal and precious to him.
"Ergghhmm." Alaha's voice echoed, snapping Azrael out of his trance.
The Golden Sun Crow began to pick up speed, gliding toward an island with a simple landing platform.
With an abrupt yet graceful descent, the crow landed smoothly on the platform.
The group dismounted swiftly, their movements practiced and fluid.
Elder Yang, with a simple wave of her hand, caused the crow to transform into light.
The radiant particles of light coalesced into her palm, forming a simple bird tattoo that caught Azrael's attention,However he chose not to comment, silently observing the transformation with intrigue.
Elder Yang, carrying the unconscious Uriel with ease, retrieved a small teleportation stone from her storage ring.
Without hesitation, she channeled her Qi into the stone, activating it. Moments later, a radiant light enveloped the group, and they vanished from the platform in an instant.
.....
"Senior Xi fancies me, and Junior Ti, shouldn't I take the opportunity?"
"No. You're barely a hundred years old. Marriage will hinder your path to cultivation."
Whoosh!
"Is that sound coming from the main checkpoint? The teleportation stones have been disabled for months now. Could it be... the Peak Master?"
The two servant disciples exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued.
They quickly rushed toward the terminal point used for teleportation stones.
A radiant light was manifesting, its brilliance growing stronger until four figures emerged from the glow.
"We, servant disciples of Crimson Lotus Peak, greet Master Yang!" the two disciples roared in unison.
They fell to their knees, kowtowing deeply, their expressions filled with awe and admiration.
Elder Yang glanced at the disciples briefly and said, "You may be excused. Inform the attendees to prepare for my arrival."
As the disciples hurried off, Azrael turned to Elder Yang and asked, "What is the Crimson Lotus Peak?"
Elder Yang let out a brief sigh before beginning to explain the structure of the sect.
"The Radiant Oblivion Sect is divided into several ranks. First, we have the Servant disciples, followed by the outer disciples, inner disciples, core disciples, and legacy disciples.
Then, there are the elders, with their own hierarchy, and at the top, the sect leader."
She paused, her tone growing more serious. "There are 14 peaks within the Radiant Oblivion Sect, each belonging to an elder who has achieved significant accomplishments.
These elders are given the title of Peak Master, and their influence extends to the core decisions of the sect.
Disciples can be invited to join specific peaks, receiving backing and support, or they can be trampled upon by those who already have such backing.
Joining a peak opens many doors but also presents numerous challenges."
Azrael stopped in his tracks, his thoughts racing ' Wait a minute... this is similar to a company. Celine used to describe her companies the same way'
The realization hit him with a strange sense of familiarity.
The structure, the hierarchy, the influence of those at the top ,he had heard Celine talk about her companies in much the same way. The thought lingered, but he shook it off, focusing instead on the path ahead.
"Alaha, go to your manor. From today, you will share it with her. More attendees will be issued," Elder Yang said briefly, tossing a key to Alaha before handing Uriel over to her.
Without asking questions, Alaha accepted the responsibility with a nod and left, heading toward the manor as instructed.
Azrael looked at Elder Yang with a confused expression and said:
"Shouldn't I leave too"
Elder Yang simply picked him up and with a single step they appeared near a giant door surrounded by giant rocks.
"Did we teleport again it felt different this time" Azrael muttered as he surveyed his surroundings.
Elder Yang paused what she was doing and looked at Azrael with a knowing smile. "Did you just notice the shift between spaces?" she asked. "Although I have the space attribute I didn't teleport, that technique is called a Flash Step. A single step covers hundreds of miles, so it was pure speed, not spatial distortion."
Elder Yang simply put Azrael down and began to open a door with her hand. Although it weighed thousands of tons to her, it felt as light as nothing.
As soon as the door opened, Azrael's mouth dropped in awe.
The opening revealed a dwelling cave, typically used for seclusion by cultivators. Inside, glowing plants bathed the space in an ethereal light, and purple luminescence filled the air.
But what stood out most was a simple meditative platform, surrounded by this strange, mystical lighting, giving the entire scene an otherworldly feel.
"W... what are we doing here?" Azrael stuttered, turning to Elder Yang with a confused expression.
"In the coming days, you're supposed to choose a master," Elder Yang began, her tone serious. "But before that, this is more important... Azrael." She paused briefly, kneeling to gently touch his cheek. "You're not well mentally. Your mind is breaking, and I have to fix that."
" What do you mean my mind is breaking don't you think I would notice that"
"No," Elder Yang corrected, her voice softening. "The lunar light in this cave gives spiritual plants hallucinatory properties. But if used well, it can be harnessed to conquer inner demons. In your case, it might even allow you to directly face and overcome your trauma."
She let out a small sigh, noticing the innocent yet confused expression on Azrael's face.
Elder Yang simply Guided him toward the meditative platform and made him take a cultivation stance.
"Is this really necessary, can't it be resolved using elixirs" Azrael inquired as he began to close his eyes.
"Yes but that would damage you in the long run, I wanted to wait a little longer for a better solution but your moth... just think of the moment your trauma began and face it but I will pull you out if things get bad"
