"This place was created about five years ago," Scott stated, his eyes still closed as if he were tired. There are more than a thousand of them scattered around this city and even more in almost every city in this country… and even more around the world."

Lucien let out a low whistle of appreciation at that bit of information. "That had to have cost a pretty penny," he said.

One of the other men standing around, his arms crossed against his chest. "You have no idea."

"We are here to protect both men and women who were abused by either their family, a loved one, or a mate. It is our job to stand between them and the outside world until they are able to face it," continued Scott.

Lucien sunk back into his chair and nodded his head. "That would account for the amount of security I was put through," he said, raising his hands to show they were still bound by the silver cuffs. There was no way for him to shift and as a human…
