Lucien maintained a poker face as Caleb and about four people from the medical staff frantically searched around the room for Adaline.

He could feel her tiny heart beating frantically against his chest as she rubbed her face all over his skin. His heart broke and then was put back together again as he realized just what that meant.

She was claiming him as hers.

Not Caleb in front of him, or Raphael, or Dominik, or Damien. He was her first mate to be claimed by her mouse, and that meant everything in the world to him.

Rachael stood beside him, her eyes wide with shock as she blinked rapidly, trying to find where Addy was.

"Mouse's Haven," he said, the smile on his face getting bigger and bigger. It had never occurred to him why it would be called that. It did make sense that it was nothing more than a hole in the wall… a mouse's haven.
