Chapter 72: 72. Find All The Jewelry

Empty. There's nothing under the long kitchen table. She breathed a sigh of relief. She straightened her back and faced her breast.

"I thought I heard a thump from under this table. Why isn't there anything? Ah, maybe it's just me this time." Meghan said easy.

As for Alice, she had moved her body out from under the table. She was on the other side of the table.

Alice sat on her knees and covered her own mouth with her right hand. Trying not to make a sound. Luckily, Alice was barefoot. If she's wearing footwear, be damn sure Meghan will hear Alice's moving around.

Meghan's footsteps sounded distant. Until finally the kitchen area returned quiet and dark.

Alice simply opened her mouth and took a lot of oxygen. She's a little sweaty. Her heartbeat continues to pound.

Alice still chose to remain in that position for nearly fifteen minutes. At the same time keeping watch for fear Meghan might suddenly cut her from the hall.
