Daisy Madison thought she was a regular, boring girl with a regular, boring life. After a shift at the Bargain Bin, she finds a weird note stuck to her windshield, and her life becomes less boring. She meets a faerie named Dallas Sturgill who has eyes the color of coal. Dallas becomes her roommate, and Daisy hopes one day she can set the coal of his eyes ablaze with lust. As Daisy navigates her new life among the supernatural, life shifts from mischief to mayhem. Daisy and Dallas find themselves thrown into the jaws of deathly creatures, and their small town becomes nothing like it once seemed. What was once a banal existence becomes a life full of more mystery than Daisy imagined possible.
