Tom got down from the horse and walked towards her.
He put a hand on her shoulder. “Are you alright?”
Her head slowly turned to look at the person in front of her. “I am fine. Just a bit exhausted.”
Tom watched her turning back to look at the corpses. He followed her vision. His heart did a tiny leap when he saw the figure on the ground.
“Is that general Kundh?” Now it all made sense to what was the cause of the retreat the general was dead.
“Who defeated him? The captain?” Tom could not remove his eyes from the dead general.
Especially his blank eyes still open staring at the top.
“I did,” Rosa said in a low voice.
“What! …...say that again.” Tom could not believe his ears.
His eyes looked at her for a while. He knew she was transferred to Argenti, where the cadets do experience real-life battle experience but to take down a general all by herself was something that he could not imagine. Rosa’s eyes were looking at the corpse in pity rather than anger.
