‘Wait where is Tom?’ she thought as by rank he was supposed to be in front of her.

‘Did he walk away quickly? Dang! I was too busy to leave that place quickly that I did not notice anything. Did he leave me behind?’ Her confused mind made her body look behind her.

Tom was standing and looking at her. He was just there looking at her.

His regular smiling face was sad. “What are you doing back there? Brother Tom?”

He walked to her and raised his right hand putting it on her head. “You were taken as a prisoner.”

Rosa felt embarrassed. “Ah yeah that was unfortunate but I am back.”

“I know about the ritual of the gate Rosa.” He indicated about the poison pill while patting her head.

“Ah yeah! That I lost that pill when they tied me up.” Rosa chuckled nervously.

She avoided his eyes. Right this moment Tom was feeling like a parent in front of her. She gulped and thanked fate for keeping the mask on as her expression would easily be out.
