Logan rushed out to get down. He was followed by the other two. Laudren did not wait much he followed quickly. The gate opened to a group of fast riding horses. They skidded to a halt with the riders coming down one by one.

The horses were taken away from the riders by the stable boys. Logan stood for a moment watching the riders get down from the horses. His eyes went to the horse that came in the middle Borko was riding with another in the front.

He was standing straight in his position. While the others moved to check the riders. Aluma got down and stood up, her eyes moved to meet with his one.

Finally, Logan found the strength in his legs to meet her. His steps were moving slower than the speed he took to run down the stairs. He felt a burden get down from his shoulders.

Laudren did not notice this exchange between the two he was more concerned with the lesser number of soldiers coming back to the fortress. His eyes scanned the state they were in. Aluma was looking weak.
