Nightfall came early as the cold in the wind increased. However, there was no sign of snowfall. Rosa covered herself with the cloak as she watched the fire burn. Her throat tickled. She wanted to get some soup first before retiring for the night.
“It is not ready yet, Princess. You can wait in the wagon till it is done.” The young soldier said as he stirred the pot.
Rosa shook her head. “It warms here better than the wagon. I would rather sleep here instead.”
She shivered and then patted her shoulders. She rubbed her hand and then stretched it in front of the fire.
“I think the princess would have been warmer in the carriage,” Ehsan said as he came to sit beside her.
Rosa opened her mouth to argue but was interrupted in the middle. “You have no excuses now. Besides, we will reach the capital in one day. I don’t think it would be a good impression to the Emperor if we keep his sister out in the cold instead.”
