Chapter 25: Majority and Minority

Back in the cold building. 

Conrad stared down at the blonde-haired woman lying before him. She was unconscious, scarred and the blood leaking from her neck had formed a dark red pool beneath her. 

She was in really bad shape. One thing that indicated that she was still alive was her shallow breathing. 

The very scenery of her seemingly lifeless body caused Langley's corpse to flash across his mind. He blinked hard, trying to shake off the heavy feeling throbbing in his chest.

He felt his hand tremble, even as he held Meliora's arm.

"That's enough, Mel"

Connie muttered as he gave Mel a sharp glance. She didn't appear to be shaken by it, her face still looked as stern as ever. 

"Calm down. I wasn't going to kill her. I just wanted to subdue her first before confirming whether she's an enemy or not" 

"Are you satisfied now?"

"Shut up. This girl is a Diviner, I couldn't take any chances"
