Chapter 33: Fated

"What did you just say?"

Ranulf's mind paused when Fern said something that snagged his attention like a hook in the water. 

"I will tell you the Skills I can use and the Ability of my Enchanted. Did you hear it this time?"

He said with a grin. 

Ranulf was taken aback by this, but he didn't allow it to show on his face.

His mind raced. What game was this bastard playing? Who in their right mind would announce their capabilities to an enemy before the battle began? Was it because he had complete confidence in his victory or was there another reason he was here? 

All those questions went unanswered, and he didn't relay them to Fern either in fear of him babbling about something unnecessary again.

He eyed the bastard warily, trying to discern whether or not this was some sort of mind game or setup. If Fern was underestimating him then it would work well in his favor.
