Chapter 26: Stronghold

"What is happening here, Who is the boss?" Jason asked with a domineering tone.

"We were just a small gang but our vice leader and a new member both awakened some sort of powers and they killed the leader and became the leaders, but the vice leader seems to follow that bastard's each and every command. The vice leader killed our leader at his command and now he is our leader. Coming here was his idea and he asked the vice leader to build the walls." The guy poured out everything as having a gun pointed at your head was quite good motivation to talk.

"What's the name of that guy?" Jason was quite curious about the new leader, he had the foresight to create a good base with all the basic necessities inside these walls.

"His name is Morris, he was just a normal member yesterday and now he's the leader, man I wish I had powers like him." The guy spat out with an envious expression.

"What are his powers?"

"Nobody knows, all we know is that the vice leader follows his every command he hides behind his back always" There was a frown on Jason's face as he heard that. According to what he could deduce, the man should have some sort of controlling power, he'll have to be careful around him.

"What are the goals of your group?" He was quite curious about what the objectives of the leader were.

"I don't know only the vice leader or maybe that newbie leader of our's would know"

"Have you seen a tall girl with long hair and azure blue eyes around here?" Jason asked the main question, all the questions he asked before were just to gain some knowledge about this stronghold.

"Y- Yes the leader has kept her captive in one of the cells where the policemen are kept. She also seems to have powers and the vice leader visits her every then and now to torture her and try to make her agree to come under our new leader's command"

*Crackle

Jason's hand closed to form a fist with a crunching sound as he popped his knuckles due to him not controlling his force in his anger. He was trying to control himself so as to not shoot this guy down in his anger.

The guy's face visibly paled as he noticed this but before he could do anything Jason hit him on the back of his head with the gun causing the man to lose conscience and fall down.

"I'll make him pay for what he did to her, but rescuing her comes first," Jason said with a calm expression but his voice was forceful and filled with boiling hot anger.

"I'll have to save one for escaping with her and the other one for any emergencies"

Jason had thought that he might save some of his explosives but now he will have to go all out"

Jason took out a frag grenade and then moved out of the room and looked for a window which was towards the front gate.

There were guards looking around still baffled at the vanishing of the blond guy.

Jason threw the grenade at the front gate and then rushed down towards the stairs of the building. The grenades would blast the gates open and it would also create mass mayhem and make it easy for him to reach Kim. He did not want to kill humans willy nilly but he will kill them if they come in his way of saving Kim. He did not have enough power to go to Kim, then find her and then run with her with his speed mode on. He will have to find her normally and then wait for Arya and Harry to come inside the stronghold and rescue them.

"Be ready to come inside. And Arya cover the sides of the bus with ice especially windows and the front too if possible make the ice transparent so that you can see through it." after absorbing the powers from the bead the hardness of her ice had increased exponentially and covering the windows would make them somewhat bulletproof.

"Okay give me a signal when you need me, and be careful" Arya.

"Okay"

*BOOOM

The grenade exploded blasting of a part of the wall and the door away. It seemed that this bomb was quite powerful for it to blast away the stone wall. Normal frag grenades were not supposed to be this powerful. He had meant it to just serve as a distraction and for it to weaken to the front door for the bus to burst through it. But this was better, now the rescue team will have an easier time coming inside.

The guards near the door were all dead with their broken limbs flying away causing mass mayhem as people ran away from the area towards the centre of the walls which happened to be the police station.

Jason came out of the building and when he found out that the front was empty as all the people were running towards the police station.

Jason glanced at the explosion area and he could not help but gasp at the destruction it had caused. " It was not a mere frag grenade. It's almost three times as powerful as a normal one."

Seeing all the mayhem Jason hid inside a corner inside the building and hastily changed into a pair of dark green cargo pants and a normal white t-shirt with his previous black jacket on giving him a nice cool guy look. His previous clothing had been too conspicuous for him to run towards the police station unnoticed.

He came out of the building and blended with the running crowd as his destination was the same as them, the police station.
