Chapter 75: Mutated Zombies

The pillar made of mud looked pretty solid and it sped towards the upcoming enemies like a missile.

The enemies were two mutated zombies, one had a buffed-up body and was 8ft in height making him almost a giant. The other mutated zombie had 6 large arms coming out of his back which made him look like a human spider with arms instead of legs.

The mud pillar reached the mutated zombies and was almost about to hit the 8ft zombie on the head suddenly the huge zombie let out a punch at the incoming pillar.

*Boom

A booming sound came as its fit crashed onto the pillar causing it to shatter on impact causing surprisingly sharp pieces of mud to scatter around. The zombie on the other hand was blasted back as it was flung back in the air due to the impact.

The zombie finally landed back on the ground tens of meters behind its original standing spot, its legs left deep trenches on the ground as they diverted the force of the impact.

The other mutated zombie did not sit still, by the time the 8ft zombie had landed on the ground it had reached Jason and it pounced on him with the arms on his back attacking Jason from all sides with its razor-sharp nails.

"You handle the huge one I'll deal with this human spider," Jason said lightly as he sidestepped to the left dogging most of the zombie's arms, only two arms were able to reach him, but he swung his sword diagonally diverting their attack.

He was still sent skidding back from the force behind the attack as a screeching sound came from the collision of the zombie's nails and his sword.

This mutated zombie was quite powerful and each of its arms could topple a mid-sized car easily.

"With so many arms and each arm having such power, he's the best sparring partner I can have" Jason had a smile on his face as he dashed at the zombie aiming at its chest as he thrust his sword at it.

The zombie quickly responded with a punch aimed at his head and its other arms followed with a grabbing motion at his body hoping to crush him like a can.

Jason slightly changed his posture as he ducked the incoming arms and closed in on the zombie's body, he was too close to try piercing its chest so he used his knee to smash him in its groin sending the zombie crashing backwards.

The zombie gave a great howl as it screamed in pain and steadied its body mid-air and rushed at him with fists aiming at him with anger in his eyes.

"So, it still is the most painful spot," Jason said with a smirk on his face as he dogged the incoming fists. He knew the power behind them, clashing with them head-on would send him flying.

*Boom

A booming sound came from afar causing Jason to look at where Cronos was fighting the giant zombie. The zombie had been split into two from the middle and Cronos was standing behind beside its corps as a wide creator surrounded them. Jason was astonished by how fast Cronos had killed the zombie. That zombie had to be at least as strong as the one he was facing right now.

A screeching sound came as Jason used his sword to divert the incoming nails at him.

"Let's keep practising," Jason said lightly as he kept clashing with the zombie always dogging or using his sword to divert its attacks. He did not directly attack the zombie as he wanted to use it to train his sword and movement skills.

Cronos soon came back, and he stood silently and looked at the fight from afar. He could see that Jason was training himself, so he just watched and did not come up to help.

After almost 15 minutes of fighting Jason could divert the zombie's attack without being pushed back and he was starting to deep wounds all over the zombie's body as he started using his sword to slash at him occasionally.

"It's enough for now," Jason muttered under his breath as he could feel that he had gained a complete understanding of his current strength and he had also gained quite a lot of experience in his sword skills causing them to gain a level.

Jason exerted his full strength for the first time in his fight with this zombie and he slashed with his sword several times at the zombie causing his arms to be cut off from the joints. In the end, the zombie was left with no arm and Jason ended the fight after beheading the zombie.

Jason felt a distinct stream of mana coming from the zombie corpse. This was the 5% mana he would get after each kill using a sword, it was a passive ability of against the heavens sword art. He had not felt this 5% mana from the normal zombies he killed before because they had a minuscule amount of mana. Only mutated zombies and other evolved beings had mana inside them.

Jason checked the skill level of his against the heavens sword art and indeed it had gained another level pushing it to level 4.

He could feel that the 5% mana stealing ability of this sword art would be a great boon for him in the future.

"let's go back to the base, we'll be leaving the base early in the morning. But first I have a mission for you to do in the trading area."

Jason said as he picked up the mana bead left by the zombie. He asked Cronos to follow him back to the base as he explained to him his plan which might enable him to have a stable stream of coins in the future.
