Chapter 56: Monstrosity

"I don't know whether to admire your guts or smack your head for the utter stupidity of this decision"

"It's as you said, berserker would not have been enough, and I had no other choice. But this turned out better than I thought it would go" Jason said as he flexed his muscles as the power coursing through his veins was just like a supercar unrestrained and just raw power. It was borderline painful to have so much power coursing through his body.

"How much time do I have?" Jason asked strongly.

"two minutes at max before your body starts burning up at the molecular level." The system replied with a resigned voice.

"It should be more than enough," Jason said as his sharp gaze Zoomed on to the man who had just threatened his friends, they were almost closer than family to him.

"You know you can't use time skip as all this power will just force it to go haywire. It would just be like trying to pour a whole ocean worth of water through a tiny waterpipe. It would just break apart; you would just break apart." The system reminded him.

"It won't be needed"

"Just give me a strong enough blade"

A black colored blade formed in his hand, It was so black that it seemed to suck up the light around it creating a dark aura around it.

All this conversation did not take more than a few seconds as all of it happened blazing-fast inside his mind. All of this happened just after he spoke up surprising both his friends and the man. None of them had expected him to be able to stand on his feet with such a strong presence, not after seeing his miserable appearance minutes before.

Jason did not wait to test the blade as he tested his body instead as he took a step towards the man.

*Thump

A thumping sound came as his foot touched the ground as if an impossibly heavy thing had impacted the ground. It was when he had simply taken a step without using any more force. It would not be impossible to create craters if he used a little bit of force.

A horrified look came on the man's face as he realized how powerful Jason had become in a blink of an eye.

"Power level of peak Higher mortal level… And why do these tattoos look like runes used by those damn Dwarves?"

"It can't be possible. This word just started evolving a few days ago "The man looked as if it had been just punched in the gut hard.

"Jason!" His friends cried out loud as they rushed towards him.

"Kim take all the others and move far away from here, "Jason said in a definite tone that left no room for arguments.

"But"

"No buts move out now. I'll be fine"

Jason did not wait any longer as he was on a tight time limit and the sooner, he finishes this the more chances there will be of him being in a single piece after all this ends.

He urged the power to his legs as he stomped on the ground.

*Booom

A booming sound came as a massive crater was formed as Jason was propelled towards the man at impossible speeds as his body flew up high.

He readied his sword as he propelled towards the man like a homing missile with the sword held up high in preparation of a downwards slash.

Jason used pure strength to overcome his reduced as he used forceful moments to achieve immense speed. Each time he used the power inside him he felt a piercing pain as his body protested against such usage of strength that was simply out of his league right now.

The man shivered as he saw Jason come at him in such an imposing way. He knew that he would not be able to face him like this, not with his current body conditions.

"Lord Lend me your strength" The man took out a knife from his belt and swiftly used to brutally slash at his own forehead as he used two slashes to make an Inverted Cross on his forehead.

*AAAAAAAH

The man buckled as his spine arched as he let out a horrifying scream.

The cut on the man's head spat out globs of blood mixed with black mist which immediately covered his body.

Soon unnatural sounds started coming from the black mist. Sounds of eerie creatures growling intermixed with weird whisperings of the devil.

Jason only narrowed his eyes on seeing this and just as he got to the man, he swung the sword in a downward arch in a decisive manner. The air around the sword sizzled due to the force as it pierced right into the black mist.

*Clang

A sound akin to two swords clashing came as the man was blasted back by the slash as the black mist was swept away revealing the monstrosity behind.

The creature in front of him looked nothing like a human. It had crimson-colored weird pointy horns on its head which were spiral-shaped like a goat's horns. What used to be a face was just a huge mouth with razor-sharp teeth as a pair of eyes were dangling from where there used to be ears. From the neck down the man was as shaped like a grizzly bear made out of pure muscle but with four arms instead of two and with lizard-like claws. Its legs looked extremely thin in comparison as they were the legs of a huge bird quite possibly an ostrich.

"This shit is going to haunt me for days" Harry commented as he gazed at the monstrosity. He along with the others were watching the fight from a safe distance as they would be more of a burden if they try to help.

"It survived that terrifying slash," Kim said in a terrified tone as she saw that the creature only had some blood coming out of one of its claws. This meant that this creature had clashed with that terrifying clash head-on and had survived with minor injuries.

Jason too was watching the creature with amazement as he could not fathom how a human transformed into something this terrifying.

"It still isn't enough" With his sword held up high Jason again rushed at the creature with a determined glint in his eyes.

*Ding
