Chapter 1: Dead?
"Dad!" I yelled out as airstrikes fly through the air almost breaking the sound barrier, I covered my eyes and ran through the streets to where my dad had worked at. All the people ran around not knowing what to do and fires spread throughout the city and as I reached my dad's work it was abandoned. "Dad! It's me, Rosie!" I check everywhere of the store but couldn't find him, I looked up to the glass of the storefront and a huge explosive coming towards me. I duck and before I knew it everything was black.
Rosie was my name, Rosie Rose I know it was a weird name but it's who I am. My whole life I've been an only child and my mom had died from cancer when I was little, I always been that girl who tried to fit in but never worked. I never have the perfect blond just brown hair always putting it into a ponytail, never wore tight skirts and crop tops just mainly sweats and a baggy shirt, I not the girl every guy wants and just the girl they think is ugly or just a whore...mainly what my ex spread to others saying that I was and spreading lies. All those memories just came at once and the good ones but then a flash of white shows then my eyes slowly open, my ears ring and everything is blurry.
Voice: "Hey, you okay?" a little girl appeared and she had long black hair, freckles,hazel like eyes, and she wore a dress.
"Yeah, uh, I think so" I sit up and leans against the counter and looks at her "Who are you exactly?".
Little Girl: "Oh I'm julie but you can call me Jul" she smiles then hugs me, I hug her back then I hear footsteps step on the broken glass on the ground.
"Shh stay quiet" I whisper to Jul and I peak my head a bit to see who it was and it was a group of men with guns in their hands looking around.
Jul: "Are they bad guys?" she says scared and staying close to me, I lower my head and face her trying not to worry her.
"No I don't think so, just you see that door?" she nods "well I'm going to talk to them and see if they are not bad, but if they are you run through it."
Jul: "But what about you? Won't they hurt you?" I smile a bit then I hug her.
"I will be fine just stick with the plan" she nods again and she gets ready to run through the door, I get up lifting my arms to show them I wasn't armed. "Hello, my name is..." they shot towards me but missed and jul runs through the door.
Man: "After them!" all the men behind him start to run and jump over the counter, I ran out the same door as jul did. I see her waiting outside for me.
"Run!" I grab her hand and we ran through the alley ways trying to lose them but they some how manage to catch up, I let go of her hand then pushes a dumpster towards them I figured it should buy us sometime. I go back to Jul running as rain began to pour down from the gloomy skies, after running through alleyways we reached a road with no cars and everything seemed to be abandoned. I look behind us to make sure we were safe and we finally lost the group of men, I pant after running then I look at Jul. "Hey you okay?"
Jul: "Yeah I'm okay," she looks at my arm and blood drips down my arm "Your hurt" she gets worried and looks up at me.
"Oh I will be fine," I rip half of shirt then ties it around my arm to stop it from bleeding "Let's go find some shelter and dry off at before the people come back" she nods then we go walkinga around the city looking at the damaged the bombing had created. After a while of looking we go into a house that was somewhat destroyed but we need a place to stay at so we went inside, and as we do we first go to see if their was any food and clothes to change in.
Jul: "I'm hungry" her stomach growls then I find some food for only one person in the fridge and I sigh but smile so I won't worry her.
"I found some food for you" I take out the box of chicken and rice then put it on a plate to heat it up somehow.
"But what about you? Won't you be hungry" she pouts a bit then as I put the food in the microwave I turn back to her then bend down to her .
"I will be fine I promise, just don't worry about me" I smile then hugs her, I try to think of a way to get food but I figured if we go out the people would fine them and try to kill them, but for what reason where they trying to get rid of us? I go up back to the microwave and starts a time for it and presses start, "Luckly the power still works for the house so how about you go find some clothes to change into."
Jul: "Okay" she runs up the stairs and I lean against the wall tired.
"Why is this happening?" I my body slowly goes down the wall and my hair covered my face, the microwave rings and I take out the food then I go up to Jul to give her the food but as the door was little bit open she was talking to something
Jul: "Yes I'm doing what you said, Yes she doesn't suspect anything just leave it to me" I nock on the door and she turns quickly putting on a fake smile then walks to me, "Oh hello how are you feeling with your cut and everything?"
"I'm fine, your food is ready" I give to her then backs up a bit, "I will be back I need to make sure no one followed us" she nodded then start to eat the food. I walk fast down the stairs then tries to open the door but something pushed it open, I fall back onto the ground pressuring my cut. "Fuck" I look up then it was the same people who where at the shop, "What do you want?" they didn't answer and just walked slowly towards me.
Man: "Oh it's nothing much just to see if you can survive a bullet going through your head" he presses the gun against my head then I didn't lose my nerve, I know if I did he would of won thinking I was weak.
"You won't do it your just as weak as me, you won't do shit" I get up and the gun didn't lose it's place, it stayed against my head.
Jul: "Stop! Don't hurt her! Rosie are you okay?" I glare then as the men were distracted by her speaking I lifted the gun into the air and flips him into a head lock.
"Let me go or else he dies" He tries to break free but I keep my grip, they drop their weapons and I back out to the door.
Julie: "What are you doing?" She comes a little closer and I point the guns towards her.
"Back off I heard you and I can't believe you" I push the guy to the ground still pointing the gun at them and I run out the door, my heart had pounded scared for my life and I kept running through the city and the rain started to pour more harder. I knew from that moment I couldn't trust anyone all I knew was that I had myself and I needed a way out of this place, I looked back and I saw no one following me but as I looked back infront of me I crash into someone.
Boy: "Ah fuck" I point the gun at him scared and backing out, "wo wo calm down" he gets up then let's out his hand "I'm Blake and you are?" My mind races with so many thoughts scared if whether to trust him or not but after what had happen I was scared to trust him. "Hello?" I lower my gun and I looked behind a creature creeps up from the sewers, It was huge and pale skin It had long nails. It slowly turns its body towards us then it runs to us, the creatures eyes were bloody red and sharp teeth.
