Chapter 1
I remember meeting Daniel for the first time. It was the the time when our mother and fathers became best friends. We were five at the time and both of us knew nothing about love. As we got older I began realizing I had a crush on him, but I didn't have the courage to tell him. So one day, I finally confessed.
"Daniel." I said as we walked. "I have something I need to c-confess." Daniel stopped on his tracks.
"Go ahead Stella."Daniel said smiling at me. I could feel my self getting warmer and warmer.
"I-I like you! " I said blurting out. Daniel looked surprised but I instantly knew the answer.
"I'm sorry. I can't return your feelings to you." Daniel said sadly. I looked down at my shoes and felt my tears trickling down my cheeks.
I wiped my tears and answered, " I'm sorry for bothering you..." I said my voice trailing off. I quickly ran to my house slamming the door shut.
I could feel my tears pouring down my cheeks and I sat down unable to control my tears that was rushing down. Mom wasn't home today and I was glad she didn't see me looking like this, I didn't want anyone to see me in this state.
My crying led me to crying even more during the night, I knew I would get rejected because I could tell already that he liked Rachel.
I didn't think that the truth would hurt so bad. I covered myself underneath my blanket and felt my uncontrollably tears stop as I fell asleep.
The next day, I didn't walk with Daniel this morning, I told him I'd walk alone because it would be too awkward to walk with him. I looked around to see if Daniel was walking around and my eyes spotted him and Rachel.
What was she doing with him? I thought to myself. I stared at Daniel who was smiling even brighter then he was yesterday and I felt a slight tug on my chest. It was the sign, the sign of Jealousy.
