Chapter 1: Welcome to the other world

"I want you... to have sex with other women!"

"..."

The man stared blankly at his girlfriend, tilting his head before placing it in his palm.

'Isn't it usually the other way around?'

He continued to observe her without saying anything. He could see how she was avoiding eye contact, how she clenched her pants, and how even her ears were a deep shade of red. Earlier that day, when he got a message from her saying she wanted to talk to him about something, he thought nothing of it. He didn't even begin to imagine this kind of conversation taking place.

"... What gives?"

The woman was silent for a second, her eyes meeting his own blue ones for only just a moment. She fidgeted in her chair, letting go of her pants before brushing her hands on them, trying to remove the sweat. She felt her face burning and her heart thumping uncontrollably, her boyfriend's calm tone surprisingly only making her feel even more embarrassed.

"I-I've been thinking about it for a while... I want to watch you... f-fuck someone else.."

Her voice grew weaker and weaker until she was only whispering. Seeing him raise an eyebrow made her heart beat even faster than before.

His handsome face always made her heart skip a beat, though right now she wasn't sure if it happened because of his appearance or because of the awkward situation she had gotten herself into.

"And why is that?"

This is exactly what she kept asking herself too. She had no idea when she first started craving this, nor the reason for this happening. She tried to think of an reasonable answer but nothing ever came out, opening and closing her mouth multiple times.

Slightly amused by her, he waited for an answer as he turned his attention to his phone that kept buzzing in his pocket. Looking at it, he saw a notification popping up.

Will you participate in the game?

'Pretty weird way of advertising.'

Not thinking much of it, he dismissively pressed the 'yes' button. The notification disappeared immediately after, and he suddenly felt his eyelids growing heavier and heavier until he passed out.

***

"Let us out! Please!"

"Let us out of here right now!"

"Where is this place?!"

By the time he regained his senses, he found himself in a weird room with many others, hearing them scream and beg. He looked around while getting up, seeing a non readable writing and light shining from the ground.

As he looked up, he saw the figure of a white haired woman, with her eyes closed and her hands on her chest.

'That's... pretty unexpected.'

"Do you know anything about what is happening?!"

He felt a hand on his shoulder shaking him. Looking towards the source, he saw a much shorter guy spitting saliva everywhere as he kept shouting. Disgusted, the man pushed him away, making him fall on the ground.

Before the shorter guy could say anything else, a loud voice interrupted him.

< Everyone, welcome to the other world. First of all, I am thankful to you all for accepting our invitation. >

"Who the hell are you?"

< You have all been chosen as the heroes who will save this dying continent. >

The man blinked slowly, not liking how he heard so many voices shouting and blabbering for no reason.

'Meh. At least I skipped that awkward conversation.'

<...survival. Not all of you can go to the continent. >

He raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

'Why did you bring so many then?'

< I'll say it again. The ones who have the right to go to the continent are a small number of survivors. >

'Amusing.'

The figure continued explaining things about the place they were in, but the man stopped paying attention as he picked up a sword, until he heard something interesting.

< You can all receive special classes in this world, and some individuals will also receive a 'trait' unique to themselves. The ranks are devided into common, rare, heroic and legendary ranks. >

'Oh, that sounds cool!'

< Now, with the common-rank weapons provided for you here... Protect your lives. >

Loud noises were heard as bits of glass fell on the ground, making everyone scream again as they saw monsters hitting the walls.

< This place was designed to maximize your personalities and aid in your growth. You will understand what I'm saying once you say [Status Window]. >

Once they heard that, everyone shouted the same thing for the first time.

'Might as well.'

"Status window."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a panel appeared in front of him.

[Name: Klein Verth

"Hmm.."

Verth looked at his stats as he tapped his chin.

'Why am I this strong?'

He just shrugged it off after not finding a logical answer, new panels appearing in front of him.

[You have obtained a trait.]

[You have obtained a trait.]

[You have obtained a trait.]

Verth chuckled, nodding his head.

"Yeah, yeah."

Verth quickly glanced at their descriptions as he heard the monsters becoming more and more violent.

'Two of them have high ranks but only one of them is useful right now. Hmm..'

< Then, everyone. >

'Do I even need it, though?'

< I wish you luck. >

Immediately after the figure spoke, the walls collapsed as the monsters came running towards them. The sudden rush of monsters made everyone lose their hope as they started running. Verth could hear a man shouting at everyone to grab a weapon, but he paid no attention to him as he effortlessly swung his sword, decapitating 2 goblins in one go.

[You've gained 1 strength stat point.]

'Oh wow, already gaining points?'

Smiling to himself, he rushed towards the wave of monsters that quickly approached him. The monsters were confused as to why he wasn't running away, but that confusion won't last for long as Verth immediately cut them in half, notifications popping up in front of him.

He stopped paying attention to the stat points he kept getting, continuing to kill monster after monster. It wouldn't take long for him to find the exit, which was a bright door with strange patterns.

"S-save me!"

A voice stopped him in his tracks as he was just about to enter the door. Verth turned his head and saw a man on the ground swarmed by a group of goblins, his arm stretched out towards him as he begged him to help.

An idea popped in his head as he swung his sword, killing all the goblins surrounding the man. Smiling towards him, Verth lowered himself and took the bags of food the man had near him. Not giving him a chance to say anything, he thrust the sword into his neck, making the man choke on his blood and look at Verth with eyes filled with despair.

"W-why?!"

Verth took his sword out as the man dropped dead to the ground. Not seeing any panels popping out, he clicked his tongue as he went through the exit door.

'So you don't get stat points from killing other humans..'

After walking for a bit, he heard someone shouting with all his might.

"DIE! FUCKING DIE! YOU MUST DIE!"

He wanted to go and see what was happening, but his surroundings began to tremble as he heard many loud footsteps approaching him and a voice screaming for help.

Taking a corner to his right, he felt someone bumping into him. The source, a pretty short woman, fell down as she rubbed her head. Not paying much attention to her, Verth glanced in front of him, seeing a bunch of huge, fat monsters rushing towards them.

'Woow, they are bigger! Do I get more stat points from them?'

Excited, Verth paid no attention to the woman who tried to tell him something as he ran towards the monsters, slashing them all into small pieces.

[You've gained 6 strength stat points.]

[You've gained 8 dexterity stat points.]

[You've gained 7 stamina stat points.]

Verth laughed to himself as he grew stronger and stronger.

'They were only 5 of them yet my stats increased so much! This is really... way too easy.'

Turning back, he spotted the woman who bumped into him still on the ground with her head buried in her arms, her shoulders trembling. Verth tilted his head before he started to walk towards her, crouching to her eye level as he rested his arms on his knees.

"Hey."

The woman, startled by him, quickly raised her head revealing her eyes full of tears.

"H-huh?"

"Should I kill you?"

The woman felt as if her heart dropped, her body shaking even more than it was before. What did she do again? Why was this happening to her? Why was he asking her that? Countless questions with no answers kept appearing in her mind as her heart started to beat faster and faster. Trying to stabilize her breathing, she clenched her robe.

"N-no.."

Verth looked into her pink eyes, resting his chin on his arms.

"So you don't want to die. Right. Just a moment ago you were begging for help. Mhm..."

Not understanding what the man before her wanted to say, she only slowly nodded her head.

"Then... why are you here, doing nothing?"

"..."

"W-what?"

"You don't want to die yet you're doing nothing to protect yourself. You don't even have a weapon. You're just... crying. I'm afraid this is not going to help you, really."

Trying to stop her tears, the woman took a deep breath. She wasn't doing a really good job as hiccups kept escaping her lips.

"W-what... am I supposed to do? I... don't know anything about f-fighting monsters.."

"Well..."

Closing the distance between them, Verth wiped her tears with his thumbs, making the woman blush.

"I saved you, so I shall teach you. All you have to do... is to let me help you."

The woman felt her heart race for another reason than it had been up until now, her blush even reaching her ears. When was the last time someone offered to help her? She didn't know. For him to go out of his way to help her made her, even in the cursed situation they were in... feel so happy. Not able to get a word out, she only nodded her head.

Seeing that, Verth smiled at her as he got up, stretching an arm towards her.

"Great! We should get going then. Hmm... I didn't get your name yet."

Gently grabbing his hand, the woman got up as she hugged his arm.

"H-Hayan. Jung Hayan."

Seeing her gesture, Verth patted her head.

"You're really cute, aren't you? Nice to meet you Hayan! I'm Verth."

Hearing his compliment, Hayan pushed her face into his arm, trying to hide her flushed face.

'Pfft... Really too easy.. That's right, just accept my help.'

As her eyes were closed, Hayan couldn't see his evil smile that only grew bigger and bigger.

'You'll just be... my cute, obedient puppy~'

***

'The regressor of Altanus... There's no reason not to maintain a good relationship with him.'

"I'll do as you've suggested, mister Hyunsung."

"Anyway, hyung, what class-"

Deokgu didn't have the chance to finish his question as he heard footsteps approaching them, all 3 men looking to their left. There they saw a tall man and a woman clinging to his right arm. Kiyoung was about to point his spear towards them, but Hyunsung's gasp stopped him from doing so.

"Th-this is...?!"

Seeing the regressor so happy, Kiyoung wondered is that woman was someone he knew. Wanting to know who she is, he checker her panel.
