Chapter 5: The new place
When everything went black I felt pain for a few moments then all I felt was nothing, there was nothing only darkness 'I died? This is what comes next? Nothing?', I look around and there is nothing, no light, nobody, no body, nothing, not even a small breeze, no gates, no warm, just nothing. I lost track of time I don't know if I was here for a second or for a million years it was the most strange feeling that I had in my life but it wasn't uncomfortable, it was peaceful, it is weird not being to feel the time pass, after an unknown amount of time I see a small dot of light, it is almost impossible to not see is the only thing in the darkness, the dot start to get bigger but after a few time I realize it isn't getting bigger is getting closer, I thought 'So there it comes the warm light that takes people to the beyond.' But then I hear a scream of an eagle, this isn't a call to heaven that thing is coming for me, I tried to run but I don't have a body then I turn around and think about trying to fight, but that won't work because I don't have a body, the light is getting bigger and now have a form, it looks like a bird but entirely made of fire except for the beak, the eyes and the paws, 'So I guess that's it, I died and gonna die again by a flaming bird, unbelievable this can't be serious.' By now the bird it's close enough to feel the heat coming out of its body and it's getting hotter 'It must be a joke I gonna get burned to death twice, really?.' Now I realize that it feels different from when I died the first time, this time it doesn't hurt is just warm, I can see the whole body of the bird and it is big, almost three times my size and its wings from one point to the other it must be five or six times my size, then it hit me, 'How can I see?' I don't have eyes, I think for a while and then I drop it, none of this makes sense anyway. Now the bird is close enough to touch if I had arms then it open its beak and eat me when the beak closed I wake up scared in my own bed.
Anna: "Damn! That dream was weird."
As I look around everything is in place just like my bedroom, the bed, the closet, the nightstand and the table lamp on top of it but the walls are different, it had a light green wallpaper with light pink flowers around it but now it looks like a castle wall, I got up and touch it.
Anna: "Oh shit it wasn't a dream or was it? maybe I am still dreaming."
Then I heard a knock on the door, when I leave the bedroom my apartment is different, the kitchen is gone the room still the same size and with the same furniture but the walls changed just like the bedroom. I open the door and see Arthur standing there with a heartwarming smile of welcome, don't look anything like the guy that threw a fireball at me.
Arthur: "Good morning, how you feel? I know you must feel scared about everything that happened yesterday but relax, it probably won't happen again, so tell me, how was it?"
He got in and sit on the couch as nothing happened, yesterday that things happened at 9:30 a.m. it is morning now so I died or blacked out for over 20 hours, probably what does he mean with probably and how he knows that something happened, seeing the confusion in my face he smiles and starts talking.
Arthur: "You are right in being confused, I should explain somethings first, well you are an extremely rare race of immeasurable power, you probably heard her voice when you were young and your family took you to a psychologist or a psychiatrist and they were told that was an imaginary friend and the voice got lower with time until it vanished, so, how was meeting it again?"
He talked and again I was naked in front of him, every word is making me feel like he was there and watching everything moment of my life, how could he know all this?
Arthur: "Anna, are you there? I asked, how was it?"
I get out the trance I was in and answered him.
Anna: "It was dark, then there was a small dot of light, then I heard a bird scream I think it was an eagle, then the light got bigger and I could see a bird made out of flames, it got closer then it ate me and I woke up in the bedroom."
He hears me paying attention to every word.
Arthur: "She must be really pissed, sorry about this, we tried to take everything from your old apartment but we can't change the walls of the castle, there is way too much spells, enchants and reinforcements which makes too troublesome to change anything related to the walls"
Spells, enchantments and reinforcements? wait, does this means that there is magic in here
Arthur: "So have realized what you are?"
'What am I? Wait! flaming bird... no way!!'
Anna: "A Phoenix."
Arthur: "Correct! Now let's go eat breakfast, you must be starving."
As we get up and go to the corridor I realize that I have no idea where I am or where is what, he then starts to talk about my doubts before I ask, so I followed him.
Arthur: "By now you probably realized there you are not in the Island anymore, well this another dimension, my dimension is only of a size of a continent, for have a notion of the proportion is the size of Oceania, and is called Crystal continent, we are now in my castle that is located in the southeast of the continent."
We reach an elevator he presses the button, there are three others corridors beside the one we came from and when we got in he continues.
Arthur: "There are 10 towers in the castle and we were on the third floor of the 9 corridor that connects the towers 9 and 10, tower 10 is the one we are in now it's mine and all my subordinates live here, all the common facilities are down in the 10 tower and extends until the towers 7, 8, 9 and a half of the corridor 6, that connects the towers 6 and 10, you are not understanding what I'm saying but relax this is common knowledge in here and you will understand it slowly, we arrived."
The elevator has 50 floor buttons beside the underground floors, the more he talks more I have an understanding of where I am and what it's happening, I can't say I understood everything or remember every word but a few things I got it, different dimension, castle, 10 towers and my room is 305 of third-floor corridor 9, then the doors open and I see two giants corridors that can fit a three-story building with a huge red carpet and when I look back the elevator is gone.
Arthur: "If you wanna call the elevator there is a button on each of the corners."
I look around and see four buttons one on each corner.
Arthur: "Every corridor leads to a tower, the north one to the tower 9, the west one to the tower 7, the east one to the tower 8 and the south one to the tower 6."
He points to each corridor as he explains and starts to walk to the south and longer corridor, we walk until reach a huge door on the left side.
Arthur: "This is dining hall, behind us is the training room, on our left is the weaponry and on the right side is the assignment area, the dining hall is where every meal is done in the castle is, here and you can eat as much as you want as long you are a crystal member and have that symbol."
He pointed to my left arm, I looked at my left arm and there was a crystal in my skin, I touched and look like it was attached to my skin like a tattoo but with a crystal.
