Chapter 8: The arena
A few moments after everyone asks for something to eat and they didn't were shy at all, they ask the most impressive meals that I ever saw, it was a feast, the other people from our school seeing the light mood started to come closer and sat beside us, some of the changes in them were notorious, we were now occupying half of the table, the information exchange has begun and we give all the information that we have, their time to share begun and we asked questions about what happened to them.
Angelo: "So let's start with you, the giant, Melissa how was your awakening?"
Melissa was from the other second year and she was tall before, she used to have 1,80m but now she has like 2,00m and she didn't just grow it was more like giving a zoom, her body was proportional for her size.
Melissa: "I came here and started to feel sick, I felt pain all over my body so I was told to go rest when Daniel brought me to my room, It was big but I didn't realize that at the time, when I woke up I was this size and Daniel brought it clothes to me and explained to me that I have the bloodline of giants like his then he told me about our history, powers and stuff like that."
Daniel was a classmate that also has 2,00m and was extremely religious, he founded the Christian club of the school but he isn't here with us, which made me think that he was awakened before us.
Angelo: "So Daniel was awakened before us too, now you, the dwarf, Katherine how was yours?"
Katherine was from the first year and she also was small before, she used to have 1,67m but now she has 1,50m just like Melissa she also didn't just get small, her body matches her size.
Katherine: "Mine was also like Melissa but the one who came to me was our teacher R."
R was one of our teacher she gave Spanish lessons and she has 1,60m but no one makes fun of her because she can scream with a person in a 500m radius and because she carries a ruler and she is not afraid to use it to hit someone, she even hit another teacher once when he tried to leave the group to go shopping in the middle of an excursion, she was small so kind of make sense she is a dwarf, we used to call her volcano because once she is raging out you do not want to be near.
Angelo: "So even one the teachers were aware of what was happening, now Camilla what about you?"
Camilla was from the other second year she was known as dust queen for her excess of makeup.
Camilla: "I am half-blood, I am a half-human half spirit, so basically I can phase like the ghost from Ant-man and wasp and I have basic control over earth, my guide is Phantom that guy with a hood that only shows his eyes and smile."
Wait so spirits are real too and that weird guy's name is Phantom. Kevin that asshole annoying as hell talked right after she finished just to show up like usual.
Kevin: "I am a werebeast, a werevulture to be specific, Alex is a weremonkey, Andress is a centaur, Paulo is a wereelefant and Kyle is a minotaur."
He talked as he pointed to the others from his class, their faces look like those animals but to be werebeasts that wasn't expected, I wonder how it is when they are transformed. Only one person from the second year still hadn't spoken was Lowena so she was the next one to be asked.
Angelo: "And Lowena why are you so quiet? What are you?"
Everyone looked at her, apparently, she hadn't talked even with her classmate about it. She talked in a low voice but due to the silence on the table, we could hear it.
Lowena: "I'm a witch."
Did she just said witch, 'What?!' so witches and wizards are real too, this day just got more and more awesome, my mind had already boiled and exploded like a hundred times over.
We kept talking for hours, the people that were around left then some come back some don't and we kept talking it was like a festival on the holiday, the rest of the people were only werebeasts from different animals with was boring with exception of two girls of the first year, one of them was an elf the other was a Valkyrie, the people from the top table left a while ago and when they got back we were called.
Dark Star: "Newbies gather up and follow us we are going to decide who keeps who."
He said that and started to walk to the door, soon we followed, he walked this time to the training room, when he opened the door it was bigger than the dining hall which is weird because the tower was split into four equal parts, the training room looks like an arena with a bunch of rows to seat and a semi-transparent dome around the bottom area, he started to walk downstairs and when he reaches the dome area he stops and start talking.
Dark Star: "This is the real training area, this dome is almost indestructible so you can release your power in there without the concern of destroying the building or hurt the people outside, the space here is compressed so it's bigger than it looks outside in there is even more compressed it may not look like it but there is 1 km radius in there, this is where we evaluate you, every one of you is gonna enter, one at the time, then we will lift the control of your powers you probably gonna go berserk so we will see your power and decide who is indicated to train you, you will go in the same order of the awakening so Caio get ready you are up, you can wait here in the chairs we will call you when is your turn, enjoy the show."
He says that with a smile, Caio starts to go downstairs inside the dome, the inner part of the dome looks like a desert but not the one with sand, just like the bottom of a dry lake, Dark Star starts to walk to the left until he reached the other side of the arena where the other people from the top table are waiting for he when he sits in the middle of them they stop talking and start to look at the dome, I look around and see that the chairs are almost all occupied by the same people from earlier in the dining hall.
Dark Star: "So, let's begin."
