Chapter 18: The journey to Eldran
*Chirp* walking through the forest hand in hand with Tia I enjoy the peaceful walk. Behind us are the four bodyguards that I came to know as wolf, tiger, eagle and dragon. They're a quite bunch but I can tell that they are strong.
We had decided that I would leave with them to go to the elven capital in the nation called Eldran where Tia is from. I was happy that the bodyguards allowed me to go despite my true form. I guess as long as I don't do anything that could threaten them it should be fine.
"Hey Anna we need to be careful alright? There are a lot of orc and human patrols that pass through this area. They seem to be looking for you but I promise I won't let anything happen to you."
*Nods* I quietly agree with her words, to be honest even though I'm in a humanoid form my sense of smell and the likes is still a lot stronger than other creatures. I can tell that many patrols of humanoid form have walked passed here.
I could just return to my original form and arrive at Eldran a lot sooner than we would by walking as we are now but we don't want to give away our position nor the fact that Eldran have 'tamed' that beast.
According to Tia it will take around a weeks worth of travel before we arrive at Eldran. So because of that I'm just going to enjoy my time here with Tia. I still don't fully know what our relationship status is so I need to ask. I mean I think it's okay to assume that we're girlfriends but... I don't really know.
Stepping forward dragon spoke "I suggest that we find some place to rest for the night. It can be quite dangerous out here so let's look for a place now."
Looking up I only just realised that the sun is starting to set. I must have been enjoying the atmosphere a bit too much.
Walking up the trail we stopped off at a willow type tree that was a beautiful light blue in colour. Standing at the top of the hill it watched over the area and the rising moons one blue and the other red shine onto the tree. It gives a mystical and breathtaking view.
"I'll go collect fire wood while you guys look around the area. Make sure we're safe and if you can find food."
"Sure thing eagle, come on let's go look around the area. Wolf you go with tiger. I'll go with the princesses and Anna."
*Pout* "Why do you refer to Anna as Anna but me as princess? It's not fair I've known you guys longer."
"Sorry princess it's... orders? It doesn't matter it's just feels like Anna may be more mature than you do so we feel like it's right to call her by name."
"Wha?! What does that mean?!"
Wolf and tiger both walked off waving their hands as they left dragon with the problem. *Giggle* it is quite the funny scene.
After that we looked around the area. *Sniff* smelling the air it doesn't seem like anything dangerous has passed through this area recently.
"Hey Anna, why do you sniff the air?"
Turning around my eyes meet with dragon as she asked me that question. I smiled a little bit as I answered her question "although I may be in a humanoid form I still have my superior senses. I can smell if anything had passed through this area even if they did a few days ago."
*Mumble* "Seems useful. I wonder if I can convince her to join my squad once we return. I'm sure with the queens training she would become an absolute power house even in her humanoid form."
"Huh? Did you say something? I think I heard training and queen but I didn't quite catch that." I said turning back around to meet her. Although I have super hearing the sounds of the forest matching with her very quite talking I couldn't quite hear right.
"Err nothing. Don't worry about it."
Thinking nothing of it I continued to search with the two of them. An hour later we all met back up at the tree. There was nothing to report to we all sat round the fire and watched it glow. Feeling the heat on my face and the sounds it made as the night grew late.
*Crackle* watching the fire brought peace to mind as I recalled a song from my last world.
"Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby." I continued to sing as I gazed up at the stars remembering the music and lyrics.
As the seconds pass I reach near the end of the song. I look back down to see everyone looking at me.
"If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?"
Silence. Literally silence. No one said a word as they continued to look at me. Tia was the only one without a mask so I looked over at her only to see a face full of awe and tears.
*Clap*....*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* soon the group clapped and they all spoke words of praise to me.
"That was beautiful!" Or "You need to sing that for the queen!" Is what they said. I think it's safe to say I'm not tone deaf and am actually quite good and singing.
The rest of the night was spent getting closer with each other. Although for some reason the bodyguards still kept a certain barrier on Tia. It kinda looked like they were scared to get closer to her for some reason but I don't know why.
That night was by far the best I've spent here in this world. I can only hope that these days continue.
