Chapter 21: The farewell
Carlos was going to leave tonight. It was his original plan.
He didn't wanted to go. After staying here for 4 years, he had grown attached to this place. But he still had to complete the system task and return to his original world.
Carlos looked at his system panel and quest panel.

No matter what, Carlos will have to finish this quest. It has been years in this world.
Now that it was almost over, Carlos had started to think about his real world.
Although he had only lived for a few days in that world, the love he recieved from his family and friends were calling him back.
Carlos was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice the ones rushing to him.
""CARLOS!!!"" Came voices in unison.
Carlos was surprised by incoming voices and looked behind him.
Two girls were running towards him.
These two were none other than Sayo and Ruri.
"Sayo? Ruri? What are you doing here?" Asked Carlos confused.
Carlos didn't bid farewell to them even though they were his closest friends. It wasn't because Carlos didn't care about them. Instead Carlos just didn't want to see them cry.
""Haah.. haah... Carlos... P-Please...wait!! Haah..."" Both spoke in unison.
They both catched their breath and then looked towards each other. They nodded at each other and then looked at Carlos.
"Carlos. Please take me with you." Said Sayo.
"Carlos, i am coming with you." Said Ruri.
They both showed their determined eyes filled with love to Carlos.
Carlos wasn't surprised by listening to this. He was already aware of their feelings. But Carlos had to also consider the problems they were not prepared for. The place Carlos was going to go was much difficult than this whole world. If something happend to Sayo or Ruri, he won't be able to forgive himself.
"I am sorry. It's not possible." Carlos replied.
Hearing him, Sayo and Ruri wore a sad face.
""I-I love you!!"" Both Sayo and Ruri said with tears in their eyes.
This was their last hope to be with Carlos.
"I know. And i also love you both." Carlos said.
He embraced both of them and slowly kissed their foreheads.
"--but that's the reason why i cannot take you with me."
Sayo and Ruri were happy that Carlos accepted their confession but were going to cry next moment.
Carlos knew that they won't be able to see him leave. If they cried in front of him, his decision to go on would crumble.
With a quick movement of his hands, Sayo and Ruri fell unconscious.
"I love you... but i won't be able to take you with me. Sorry. I promise to come back." Carlos used soul magic to directly say it to their souls.
Carlos swiftly lay them beneath a tree and started to move.
"Take them back to home safely. Rio." Said Carlos in a low voice.
With a huge burst of air, appeared Rio.
"So you already noticed me." Rio chuckled.
"You are really bad at hiding... Take care of them." Carlos said.
"I will. You must remember to come back for them." Rio said.
"Yeah. I definitely would." Carlos replied.
"Until we meet again." Rio said while waving his hand.
"Until we meet again." Said Carlos.
Next moment, both of them vanished.

After a few minutes of walking, Carlos stopped in front of a huge tree.
He had reached back to spirit town.
"Haah~ this brings back memories." Said Carlos while inhaling fresh air.
He walked inside the Barrier and soon reached the main town.
The town was as bustling as ever. Demi humans were shopping around as always. Kids were running around the streets as always.
Everything was same as before.
Without wasting any time, he rushed to orphia and others.
Few seconds later, Carlos was standing in front of a gate.
His heart was beating out of his chest. He was completely unaware of their reactions.
Slowly, he knocked on the door.
After a few seconds, came out a small orange fox girl.
" Um? B-Brother Carlos? You came back?!" Latifa screamed out.
Orphia and Sara used to live with Latifa. When they heard her screaming they came rushing.
""What happened?! Are you safe?!"" They were worried about Latifa.
The moment they came to the door, they were stunned.
Standing outside the door was one whom they had been waiting for for 2 whole years.
Orphia pouted angrily. Although she was angry, she was heavily relieved that Carlos was fine.
Sara still wasn't able to believe the situation.
In anger, orphia manifested her strength and punched towards Carlos knowing that he won't be hurt much.
The punch was coming straight towards him but Carlos wasn't focused even a little. He only kept looking towards orphia and sara. They had grown rapidly while he was not there. He was really happy to see them back.
He noticed the punch only after it completely covered his view.
Just when the punch was going to touch his face, he swiftly grabbed the hand by wrist and pulled orphia towards himself. Turning his body a little, he caught orphia in a dip.
(A/N : for those who don't know, dip is the dance position in which ball dance usually ends.)
Carlos slowly kissed orphia on cheek.
"Forgive me for not arriving earlier, dear orphia." Said orphia.
After the night of blood seal, orphia and Carlos had only grown closer and closer. This was not the first kiss orphia had recieved from Carlos.
Orphia stood back up with a red face. The attack she did in anger just became a opportunity for Carlos to kiss her. She was embarrassed.
"Don't say such cheesy line to me in public." Orphia said shyly.
This earned a small laughter from Latifa and Sara.

Carlos stayed with them for a few weeks.
Having fun with them, teasing them, playing with them, sharing talks. It was all fun.
But now, Carlos had to finally finish his last work and leave.
He bid his farewell to everyone and was ready to go but the elders called him because lady dryas wanted to talk to him.
In a large hall, dryas was sitting in front of Carlos.
After some small talks, dryas finally revealed the main topic.
"Carlos-sama, i want you to take me with you as your spirit."
Hearing this, the elders standing behind immediately retorted.
"No. Lady dryas! You can't leave us behind."
"If you left then our town would collapse."
"Please don't leave us."
-but dryas just stopped them by saying,
"It my decision. You have nothing to say in it, children."
Carlos was thinking wheather he should agree or not but in the end he nodded in agreement.
He can easily bring her along by making her his spirit. She can also be helpful sometimes.
Carlos slowly held her hand and touched his forehead to hers.
Lady dryas started glowing and entered inside Carlos by becoming light particles.
Carlos looked at his status to confirm.

Standing in between a grassland, Carlos looked straight above.
The clouds covering the sky instantly ran away, clearing the sky.
Standing above, looking at him, were 6 large faceless beings. Each of them manifested using different elements.
Judging from their faces and ugly gazes towards Carlos, they were definitely not friendly.
Looking above, Carlos cracked his neck and his eyes turned serious.
"Looks like... I would have to get serious for the first time..."
