*Last night an explosion occurred at a lakeside house in London the other day killing its only occupant. A retired accountant of the now bankrupted Electronic Alternatives. Reports state it was due to a drunk driver, driving thru a gas line that just so happens to be directly connected to the house, causing a massive explosion that leveled the basement where the occupant was currently living in. Several other accounts of ex, or retired employees of Electronic Alternatives, have been reported in similar kinds of accidents, resulting in theyre deaths...*
<Somewhere>
Waking up suddenly, i dont remember much except for a large sound coming from upstairs and then some heat and then...
(???)-And then you died...
Said a voice that came from behind me. Turning around im suddenly surrounded by what looked like stars glittering in space, and I, floating in it. And in front me is guy wearing a weird robe that looks something out of harry potter, except he looked like Q from the Star Trek television series.
"Hi... where am I? Who are you?" Is all i can think of saying trying to analyze my situation and wonder if this is the afterlife.
(???)-For some1 who just died you dont seem very shocked, most people usually freak out when i bring them here, or ask me if theyre in hell or heaven for judement or something, something.
So i must be talking to god i thought...
(???)-You are correct to assume, since thats the most you can imagine. But to answer your question, Call me... Q, just an ROB that took an interest on your planet, and in particular you.
"Oh... right an ROB... and Q" i said aloud, cause thinking is the same as talking to him. "Sooo... why me? No one usually pays attention to anyone like me."
(Q)- Whats there not to pay attention about? Using your skills and position as an accountant of a trillion dollar corporation to funnel funds to orphanages, youth programs, rescue and aid organizations, abused children and women and homeless care centers. I especially liked how you funded major hacker organizations, to bring down one of the most corrupt senators and corporate executives using theyre 'bribe' money as the main source, to expose them.
"I... oh you know about those."
(Q)- Oh... so modest. It took them 10 years to finally find out it was your entire department that got them arrested, killed in prison, or ruined forever. You even got that asshole of a department executive of yours, to get killed by them.
"But, did they find out it was me...?"
(Q)-Maybe they did, maybe they didnt... They sent people to kill not just you, but all your other co-workers using various methods, yours was death by, a remote controlled car with a drunk sleeping body in it, to ram into your houses gas line and igniting it killing you instantly in the explosion.
"I'm surprised they didnt torture, maim, or do anything like that to me or the others they thought did it."
(Q)-They were not exactly sure who did it, so they just did a mass killing of the various accountants and programmers that worked in your department b4 they were... exposed.
"Oh... so they died too... they deserved it though.."
(Q)-Yes... yes they did. All of your co-workers, and programmers where all aiding and abetting, said senators and corporate big shots. Aside from you all of them are suffering eternal damnation right now... probably. Depends which ROB is handling them.
"So what happens now?"
Q - Now I tally up your worth of karma, which i must say is very, very, VERY high. Therefore ill give you another chance to live another life, in a universe of many of the games you enjoyed playing. Ill even get you to choose which avatar from those games you want to be as.
"Which game world am i gonna be in?"
Q - Not a world mind you, but an entire universe. A universe filled with galaxies with which those 'game worlds' exist. I will even give you a system with which you can obtain the skills and abilities of your many avatars, as well as buy stuff from games that are not in this universe.
"A system, an avatar, galaxies, and an entire universe ... to live in? And a shop?"
Q - Yes human, consider this my retirement gift to you, live however you want, do whatever you want. However you cannot leave said universe as ive locked everything in and out, so nothing else can enter or leave it, including you, i have also removed abilities, and things that can turn back time. Fast forward and/or stop it are doable, but thats it. Its a fairly young universe only about 100 quadrillion years old, and only a few thousand galaxies within it. Some of them are game galaxies you may be familiar with, and some of them are just regular, randomly generated galaxies.
"Is there a Warhammer 40k galaxy there?"
Q - Of course there is, but dont worry about that, its far, far, very far away from where your starting, and very isolated from the rest of the galaxies in the universe, although... you may accidently get transported there... Theres also the star wars galaxy, the galaxy of Orion, the Endless Space Galaxy, and the milky way galaxy ruled by the council races and earth in that galaxy... lets just say, is on its '5th world' and will awaken soon, and many, many more. You have to explore it to find and discover them.
"Wow... thats a... very interesting universe... will i even be able to survive?" Imagining everything from Shadow Run and nightmares that exists in the star wars galaxy, and the Reapers, not even mentioning Warhammer 40k... damn, i hope i dont find that one galaxy, or multiple galaxies merging early... is this really a retirement? And, what does being accidentally transported there mean...!
Q - Of course it is, and you will survive, and if you work hard you can even kill the gods of said galaxies and worlds. I am giving you system after all.
"Where will i be starting?"
Q - Golarion, thats where you are starting, though, you may encounter creatures from various high magic games you played there if you explore around, I also added Elysium in the solar system from the Dominion and Conquest of Elysium games you play alot, ive changed some things with those 2 planets. They both are linked to the Elemental, Fey, Abyssal, and Celestial planes. Many of the denizens of those planes dont really understand the vastness of space, so they sorta exist and are bound in that solar system. You can find pockets of entrances, and or access ways into them on the worlds and the entire solar system. Well, i dont think many here will understand solar systems or galaxies, or even most science-y stuff, because you know, they have magic. But magic is just an energy field that surrounds and binds us..."
"Yeah.. i guess..." was he making a jab at star wars, i thought... even more nervous now than b4, i ask, "You mentioned a system or something?"
Q - Why yes, its a system that allows you to obtain knowledge of various things like technologies, spells, as well instill in you skills and abilities of various avatars that you have created in some of those games. What you can get is all determine by how much soul points you can obtain.
"How do i get Soul points?"
Q - Simple you kill for it, or release trapped ones and send them back to the universe. The universe im putting you in, have some individuals or groups of individuals, storing, keeping, hording, stealing or eating them. And to get them to recycle back, you need them killed or freed as its reducing the energy levels and expansion speed of this universe, not much mind you, but enough to be slightly annoying. Usually theyre held by abominations, or beings calling themselves gods, but really theyre just gluttonous pigs that think theyre immortal. They can die, you just have to kill them using certain methods or weapons.
"Ah i c..." looks im gonna be a murder hobo, but... thinking of all those things i encountered in the games i played, the demon worshippers on Golarion, and Elysium, the reapers and the various chaos gods that i will most likely encounter later on. The thought giving me a headache of all the things i must do keep myself safe... maybe.
Q - You think too much, just accept it, you have no choice anyways im sending you there whether you like it or not, and your not gonna die easily depending on the first avatar you choose. You will have all the powers, skills, abilities and magic of the one you choose. So you need not worry, ill even throw in an AI artifact, with a storage space for good measure, as well as whatever inventory system the avatar's you choose has, also, as long as its around you can never really die. It will aid you in your quest to do whatever you want in this universe, aside from the above mentioned things to become more powerful. Because i know you wont like those individuals.
Reading me like a book, i couldnt help but nod, and what does he mean i cant die as long as my AI is around, does that mean around me, or around somewhere in the universe... Ive always played empire games maxing out people happiness and adding laws and policies to improve way of life, growth and tech. Especially in the Endless Space, Master of Orion, and Galactic Civ games. I wonder if i can obtain tech from those games as well. I have to buy them thru the System it seems... Imagining this all in an instant i finally say "Im ready"
Q - You dont talk very much, but you sure have a overly cautious mind, this will be very helpful for the things you could do. Discover them on your own, and yes your AI stores your essence and soul, so you can revive as long its around, howerver, you will lose all your purchased avatars' skills and abilities except for the one you started with. Now choose your Avatar.
Damn... i have to make a really good choice then.... Looking thru the list i see all of them, Inquisitors, Warriors, Agents, Troopers, Bounty Hunters, Smugglers, Consulars and Knights of every kind from star wars the old republic. My various builds of D&D and Pathfinder characters from the Neverwinter nights 1&2, Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous. Even my Star Trek Online, Starfleet Engineer Scientist build, Klingon Securty Engineer, Romulan Scientist Engineer build, and so many more. Knowing the milky way galaxy is the Mass effect one, it means i can create superior ships and weaponry. Ive always liked star trek tech... theyre more precise, but i can learn this all at a later time. Continuing thru the list i see the Dominion Gods ive created, but they seem to be grayed out, as well some of the different classes from Conquest of Elysium. Even my dragonborns are greyed out. However my endgame builds of my Master of Magic Sorcerers seems to be selectable. My Merlin clear at 900+ turns on hell difficulty, and my long campaign at 2200+ turns with a Horus custom build, mastering all magic and getting all lvl 10 books, by allowing an option (modding in) for sorcerers to be able to keep reviving until theyre last city is destroyed, this way, i can keep getting theyre books after i kill them over and over again, Learning most of the spells they owned, and research the rest, keeping them alive with at least 1 city in order to learn them all. Thinking about it now, this might be the best choice to pick, since im starting in Golarion, a world of high magic. Quickly selecting the Horus build, "ive made my selection"
Q - Good choice, one of your most powerful avatars, you should at least be able to challenge some of the lesser gods in your starting world with that. Maybe even killing some demon lords, and legendary individuals. Since you chose that build i will add an ability that will allow you to travel to any world or location you have been in the games you played, but only adjacent galaxies. Right now you are adjacent to the milky way and Star Wars galaxy. Since the star wars galaxy is full of magic or the force as they call it there, you can travel to any of the known planets you have been on in your memories in the games, however for the Milky way Galaxy... You need to wait till earth awakens b4 you can travel there. Also, all galaxies will have at least 1 solar system with magic. Be careful now when traveling to earth... dragons are equivalent to gods there and are more powerful than the gods of Golarion or Elysium. But im sure you will find a way to overcome them easily. I'll check up on you in couple of thousand years or so, to see how things are going. Now good Luck.
With those last words i feel my body being dragged thru what feels like a vacuum tube landing painfully to what looks like a clearing area with trees all around me. Not sure exactly where i am but i take a look at my body and see that i am completely naked, great. At least im somewhat well endowed with skinny muscular features and wavy blonde hair, just like Horus in the game. I also dont seem, or feel as short as a halfling should be, maybe Arcana halflings are actually tall... Just b4 i finished inspecting myself i hear a *b-beep* and a *drizzt* sound. Looking back to see a floating oval shaped machine like the protoss observer from star craft, except smaller.
"Greetings master i am an assistant droid AI to help you with whatever you need. Including information gathering, recording, and access of all things mechanical. I have a processing power of over 9000 yottabyte (can improve with upgrades), and able to process and work many different kinds of machinery, droids, ships and bases. I also have a storage space of 250 cubic meters (can also be improved with upgrades). I hope I can be of service?"
It says as i think about exactly how much is a yottabyte, and 250 cubic meters of space... i can store a frigate in there... "Its nice meeting you... ummm... whats your name?" I ask
"I dont have a name yet master, but my designation AD-AI-337766-V001 1st Class"
This must be the AI artifact Q mentioned he was giving to me. Not very good with names so ill just mix around those letters and... "Very well then, i shall name you Adavi, or Ada for short."
"Thank you master for naming this unit, i shall aid you in anyway i can" It whirrs in response.
"In that case can you give me a description of this system? how do I use it? what can i get for exchanging points?"
"Of course master, the system given to you is a shop of sorts that allows you to buy things that dont belong in this universe, as well grant you the many powers, skills, and abilities of various characters the master has been during his existence, as long as you can afford them."
"So the system is a shop then?"
"Not just that master, it also acts as wizard tower, so you may cast the spells you have knowledge of, or spells you create without an amplifier, focus or materials."
"Ah i c..." pausing for moment, "are there any changes and/or differences to spells ive known, to the spells of this universe?"
"Yes master, as of spell casting you draw your spells from a mana pool, and the starting you have at the moment was the last mana level of the last world you have conquered, Myrrar and Arcana, which has quite a high rating. Each spell you cast drains from this power pool, that regenerates monthly. Whatever you do not use is transformed to mana crystals, which is a type of refined resource you can use for many different things. Also some changes have been made to the spells, for example the Spell of Making has been changed to you actually spell making, or making spells, and Create Artifact needs an actual ore or metal materials or any natural and/or synthetic materials to actually create the items. Your retorts, skills, abilities or whatever you may call them plays a huge role on how much mana you use during casting or crafting. For example, master has obtained 10 retorts during his wars in Myrrar and Arcana. Archmage, Chaneller, Alchemist, Runemaster, Sage Master, Artificer, Conjurer, Node Master, Mana Focuser, and Omniscient. These abilities allows you to to reduce your spell casting and crafting costs by a half, as well as amplify the amount of mana you generate and obtain. Since we are in a new world, you can probably increase that amount further by taking nodes, ley lines, thinned out veils, or whatever openings there are that leads to a magic rich plane, as you had in the previous worlds or Arcana and Myrrar."
Wait what... is it because of the avatar ive chosen, and omniscient wasnt in masters of magic, but in casters of magic... hmmm i wonder about that. "What is my current pool of mana?" I asked.
"It is currently at 49864 master"
I remember my income being higher than that, but hmmm... "Thats quite a high number, and your saying i get whatever i amount i dont use is converted into mana crystals? What are mana crystals used for?" In the game i know theyre used for casting overland spells, crafting, summoning fantastic creatures and theyre maintenance, but here, i wonder if it will be different...
"That is correct master, the crystals are a type of resource to be used should you run out of mana, as well as various other uses, such bringing any of your summons, except for the undead, to this universe permanently. They are also used to pay for travel within, and between galaxies."
"They are not used for to pay for summons? and my summons can be bought permanently with them them? and how much does travel costs?" I asked quickly.
"Your summons are maintained by your total mana output monthly, and as long as you dont go over your output, mana crystals will be used instead, and yes, your summons can remain in this universe indefinitely as long as they also agree to remain, however they can die of natural or unnatural causes, and will be lost forever. As for travel i believe the cost is 1 mana crystal per 50k to 100k light years traveling from galaxy to connected galaxy, and inter galaxy travel is 1 mana crystal per 20 light years if there is magic in the galaxy, it could also be less or more depending on concentration, and 1 crystal per 1 light years if there is no magic."
"Why is inter galaxy travel more costly than galaxy to connected galaxy travel? And what about inter system travel?" I asked dumbfounded at the cost difference.
"Its exactly that master, the galaxies do not have many obstacles interfering, so creating the path of connection wont cost much, and since there is usually no overpowered gravity wells, anomalies, or cheap imitation Cthulhu machine that exists in the connected path (except for the one to the milky way galaxy), you just need to go thru it, reducing the cost by a lot. Traveling within the galaxy is much more difficult, as no connections are made, except maybe by star lanes, but those use many different kinds of energy, and travel method to travel thru. Also in magical and non magical galaxies, the stellar bodies are always shifting, though at a very, very, very slow pace, and the path created some times must change if not used often, but for non magical galaxies, as the paths are created, they dissipate almost immediately after theyre made. You just need to use your available mana to travel to planets in the system. You should also note master that once a path is established you may gate or teleport to said connected galaxy for a flat rate of 100 crystals, and 10 crystals for inter galaxy travel. The exception is non magical galaxies, for those i recommend a fast star ship."
"Hmm... interesting... aside from inter system travel, can i use my mana instead of crystals for travel?" If so then i can just travel to the star wars galaxy right away and scavenge some high tech stuff there to start killing stuff here to gather, and free souls to get some points.
"No, you may not master. Mana crystals are crystalized energy that can be used for many purposes, and is more refined, usually thru hundreds of years, than raw mana. Though, raw mana can be used to create, or cast spells, it is more of a raw usage, than a refined one. The system given to you reduces those years to simply a month to refine mana into crystals."
"Ah i c..." there goes my plan of visiting the star wars galaxy right away. But thinking about it now, i did get a rush of knowledge transferred to my brain, while i was being sucked thru a vacuum being dropped in this world, it maybe a good idea to find out the things that i can do. First things first, I cant be walking around naked when traveling. So i grab a few branches, scrape a few bark from the nearby trees to fashion into some clothes, while being followed around by a small protoss observer named Adavi. Materials for artefacts he mentions, i wonder if i can make clothes out of these barks and branches, i know theyre fibrous. Casting create artifact, i imagine the clothes to make, since im in Golarion, i remember the designs of the sorcerers and rogues attire in the pathfinder games, creating it like a mix of both, and once i was done, poof, a hooded sorcerer robes with pants. Hmm no underwear, gonna have to go w/o one for now. Also, the robe is a bit stiff, but it will do for now.
I wonder what this AI think i am. "Ada, what do you think i am?"
"A creature that has lived many lives, master, has died multiple times and been reborn multiple times. Within, lies an indeterminate number of lives, and have been reborn by the great creator (the Q), to relive theyre lives in this universe. Starting with the great and powerful Grand Sorcerer Lord, Goldie Locks..."
I facepalm myself at that, i thought he would say Horus. I never was good with names. I thought that was a good name at that time... anyways "Since this a new life and existence Ada, i am going to change my name. From now on my name is..." Thinking of something simple and easy to remember, and then i remember the Legacy of Kain series, where he was good guy, a bad guy, and then a good guy again, a truly complex individual... "Kain." I state proudly.
Then Ada whirrs, and purrs, "Acknowledged Master Kain"
It seems a background was created with this avatar, and i wonder if this will affect my summons, or if buy those units from the Masters of Magic, or Casters of Magic game...
Recalling much of my knowledge from the game and the knowledge of this Horus avatar and mastery of spells i practice a few spell castings for defense, attack and enhancement, and damn... these enchantments are truly OP, they can be maintained easily. Flight, regeneration, spell immunity, elemental resistance, and even invisibility and so on. Counter spells, revival spells, hero summon spells, and my multitude of summons. I could really become a walking disaster. Even the overland spells... damn. Maintenance and casting costs are reduced by my retort's abilities... I could have a fully enchanted army b4 i even step foot off this area ive landed in.
Then i started looking thru the system, i see that i can purchase units from all the races that existed in Myrrar and Arcanna. Draconian Air Ships and Doom drakes, dark elf warlocks, high elf pegasi, troll mamoth riders and dwarvern golems, even the settlers of each race, (but why are the settler units worth 10k points?)... theyre all there and the cost of them is similar to theyre production value in game, some more some less could this the benefit of choosing a sorcerer lord as my first...
And then theres weapons and starships from star trek online, although 100+ times the cost in points to theye costs in game. I wonder why though there is no Star Wars Weapons and Starships, and no mass effect ships and weapons, or no Warhammer 40k things either... then i remembered what Q said about things you can buy that are not in this universe. Star trek online setting was in the milky way galaxy, and the milky way galaxy in this universe is run by council races... they are not in this universe of the games ive played. Wonder what other games are not in this galaxy... Looking around more in the system shops, i see armored cores, battle mechs, brotherhood and enclave power armors, skyrim daedric and ebony weapons and armors, halo weapons and ships, (seems limited tho), then i see them... protoss, zerg, and terran, and sigh a bit that i dont have to deal with those in this galaxy... but i still see nothing from WH40K... which is really scaring me. Maybe i can power up enough later b4 i head to that overpowered madness of a galaxy. I tried casting create artifact hoping i could make one of those space weapons and or armors, but, it seems to have failed as i need a mental image, information, and, or possibly blueprints of said weapons and armor. If thats the case, when i travel to the Star Wars galaxy, im gonna be getting myself some blue prints...
Aside from all those items i can buy, i also take a closer look at the avatars of the characters i created, as these are the ones that i made during my play throughs of various games. It seems that the ones with magic, aura, technical, meta or force abilities are more expensive than the more mundane and physical ones. Many different class builds from Kingmaker, Neverwinter Nights 1&2, and Wrath of the Righteous. Even ones from Star Trek Online, Star Wars The Old Republic, my only 4 toons in WoW (i didnt see any items from this game...), and Anarchy Online (looking back at the shop i do remember seeing some battle droid pets and weapons and gear from that game). Also my Dominions 2-5 god templates, Age of Wonders 1-3 wizard lords, Shadowrun, Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind maxed out characters. Looking at the prices of all these avatars, makes me wonder if Q wants me to be a murder hobo, cause its tempting me to just cast armageddon , and watch this world burn, as i gather some some points. Thinking about it, i probably wont, but i am so very tempted... Seeing all of them though, i can be all these characters again, the nostalgia... it really is a great retirement Q has given me... But i gotta work for it. 10k points is the cheapest one it seems, the fighter i created with dual wielding great swords with monkey grip from the Neverwinter Nights, and the most expensive one is 50 million! One of the pretender gods with 6 arms i created in Dominion 5. I had maxed its magic power in all the elements and schools (including blood and death magic), skills and abilities... i guess thats why its worth so much points...
Imagining the things i need to do to obtain i call for Adavi. " Ada, Can you scan, and map the world we are at right now, and make a note of the populated areas?"
Ada responds "Yes master i can do a full planetary surface scan, and may take an hour or two, for the populated areas."
"Do so Ada, ill be experimenting with my abilities" It simply whirrs, flies up and disappears. Wow, just like those extraterrestrial things i used to see on tv in my old world.
While waiting, i test out the things i can make with this spell making... and well, make spells, and the interface seems similar to that of Morrowinds and Oblivions spell creation, except i can stack, and modify an unlimited amount of effects and damage types, also, add subs to attach to them, as well various ability enhancements, enchantments and so forth and so forth... Wow... I make various different kinds of spells i remember seeing in Pathfinder and DnD games, adding and improving on them. Adding continuous damage and no friendly fire, with controlled targeting and paralysis, stunned, fatigued etc (a bunch of negative debuffs), for evocation spells. Greater invisibility that even prevents sound from emitting (even if i make them intentionally stepping on stuff), smell, infrared, and ultraviolet light from the person or thing i cast it on, even enhancing my summons to add extra abilities and skills, at an increased spell cost. Creating a new spell costs me nothing, so i start Improving or modifying all the various spells in schools of sorcery, life, chaos, nature and death in theyre respective schools of magic... and b4 i knew it i was hungry and Ada comes back.
"Done with scanning the entire surface of the planet master." It says, and i respond with "can you show me?"
It opens up a holographic image of the entire world. It seems to be a medium sized world. Ada marked all the areas with population centers, though, it doesnt specify what type of populations they are, and one area marked with a question mark, ill ask about later, i thought. I zoom closer to our area, it seems that were in the river kingdoms east, in particular the stolen lands. Getting a closer look at the map i seem to know this area as being close to the Old Oak location from the game, and is that Oleg's Trading Post? "Ada where there anybody around this spot?" I point at the location of Oleg's Trading Post. "No master, my scans indicate its an abandoned structure with a wooden palisade or walls." It says... Hmmm... i wonder. As i scroll around some more, I see the giant tree where old sycamore is and a bunch of other locations from the game that im not too famliar with. What year is this i wonder, has the expedition into the stolen lands even started? How many years is it b4 the events of kingmaker since oleg's trading post is still an abandoned fort. Looking at the map i see a city sized area in the east of us, dotted as a population area, this must be Restov. I know a lot of ruins also dot many areas in the stolen lands, maybe theyre worth exploring later. While observing the map more, i hear footsteps in the backround.
"Ada can you become invisible?", it says "im already invisible master, its just that only you can see me, unless i choose to be seen or you order me to be seen, no one can see me master, perhaps maybe psionic or tachyon detectors can see me." it replies. 'Psionic or Tachyon detectors'... those are from the space empire games... whatever. I check myself... and cast my new greater invisibility on myself, and follow where the footsteps are coming from. Soon i see a group of what look like warriors following a half elf female talking in a language i just cant understand. "Ada can you analyze theyre language?"
"Doing so now master" it replies, as i follow along until they come upon a camp or what looks like bandits, and start attacking the people there. Thinking that i need some points maybe i can... i cast several light enhancements on some of the soldiers killing the bandits... it works. I notice my points rise from the soldiers that kill them with my enhancement, and none from the soldiers that dont have them. Then i systematically cast it on all them as they slaughter all the bandits. I steal and eat some of the food that the bandits were cooking, and stuff the ones i dont eat in my AI artifact while everybody was fighting all around.
While the fight was going Ada notified me that it has finished translating and transferred the info to my brain with with a beam of light, floating directly in front of me. I asked how she was able to see me with my new casted greater invisibility spell, and she "I have sensors that can detect all spectrums of light and energy, and you master are a very bright light emitting a high amount of energy..." I simply nodded back and thought that, thats one of the things i need to work on concealing with this invisibility spell, or maybe create an artifact.
When they were done fighting i walked away from the bandits' belongings and watch them gather the things that i missed. When they were done looting one of the soldiers spoke to the half-elf woman, mentioning her name as Jamandi, telling her about the location of a bandit base, as well as the possibility that they were lackeys hired by the 'Technic League', to gather slaves. As they all moved on, and left the dead bodies, i asked ada to stuff them in her space for me to experiment on later.
Following along the group, they stop by a ruin of some sort in a swamp, and it doesnt seem to be on the maps that remember in the game, but then a battle started, it seemed to be an ambush. Jamandi lost about half of her troops b4 they finally got thru it, and advanced on inside. There they met a wizard or spellcaster of some kind, and was surrounded by what looked like armored androids... Could this be the gearsmen i read in a wiki once, or a tidbit mentioned in wrath of the righteous. According to the conversation, it seems that the wizard is telling jamandi to surrender her troops to them as slaves or be traded for her life. I asked ada to analyze the androids and said that she can hack them and attack the wizard and his cronies, cause theyre systems, or tech was fairly primitive compared to hers, and when she did, all hell broke loose.
The wizard was trying to give commands, but the gearsmen were not responding, and when he was about to port out, i casted a counter spell, that caused his hand to be blown off, and his leg severely damaged, making him unable to walk or even stand, and moments later he simply passes out from the pain still alive. Meanwhile jamandi and her troops were dumbfounded at the chaos going on, and ordered her troops to flee the ruins, due to the fact that the gearmen were not attacking them. After they safely left, i blew up the the entrance to the ruin that they knew of and watched and waited for all the wizards cronies to be killed off by ada's 'new troops.'
After all that was done, i obtained around 200 points. Not much compared to the price of things in the system shop. Then i started experimenting with the corpses, and my spell making. I soon learned that can reduce the cost and maintenance of the spells if use materials instead. Like summon death knights, normally it would cost me 300 mana to summon them but i could reduce it down 100 with no maintenance by making corpses as the main costs. I could also add weapons to cost and they would have an extra weapon with the death attribute damage. Whats also amazing is that summoning these death knights, or any undead for that matter, did not use or take up souls, so its much better than the necromancers of this world. A new way to create undead, w/o using souls...
Looking at all the left over corpses, the bandits and slavers are scum anyways, so sacrificing corpses i created 12 death knights, all with are able to fly, and can summon ghost steeds that can also fly. Some with crossbows and bows, others with sword and shields, and polearms along with theyre usual scythes, and armor they wore in the game. Those glowing red eyes, and billowy appearance is really intimidating. I also began enhancing them with all types of buffs, speeding up theyre movements, enhancing theyre strength and defenses. Even adding immunity and resistances to holy and infernal magic, as well fire magic, and each one of them costing me only 1 mana for 1 of them each month.
Back to the captured wizard, i created a spell that reads mind, similar to the ones i read about in the harry potter novels, and mined his brain for information. Apparently he is a high ranking member of the Technic League, a Lt.Commander as it were, and has clearance up to the inner sanctum of silver mountain. A highly technologically advanced structure in the kingdom of numeria. One of his duties is to gather slaves to turn into androids, to serve and be experimented on by the other top members of the League. The League is led by some1 called a captain. Asking ada to bring up the map, the location of it is exactly the '?' on it.
