Chapter 20: Twisted Reverie

Lilith PoV:

Location: Lilith's Room; Royal Suite; 9th Floor of Nazarick

"It's about time you get ready for the trip, young lady. We have to depart in a couple of hours," Yuri reminded me of the upcoming trip.

"Thanks for the help, Yuri.~" I replied in my ever so sweet voice.

"I don't deserve the thanks," She bowed and immediately led Narberal to get me dressed for the occasion.

Yes, we will be going to the New World. Imagine my surprise when I heard that Jircniv and Fluder apparently showed up in this world. Seems they got granted immortality or maybe had their race changed. This was truly beyond my expectations.

The maids already told me of the events that took place in the New World and how Ainz established the Sorcerer Kingdom. It was a highly exaggerated version of events that took place, most of which I already knew.

In all honesty, this behaviour was pretty on brand for them. It would have been weirder if there was no glorification of the Supreme Beings involved in any conversation that takes place.

About 200 years had passed in the New World ever since my arrival summoned Ainz to Earth and the established order had been shaken up by a new player. The god of revival and his revival cult, huh. Is this guy some Lelouch wannabe?

Either way, this revival cult has become the new mainstream religion of the New World and Ainz's followers had been pushed back to their very limits.

Absolutely terrified of disappointing Ainz, who they still thought of as some sort of master strategist who had engineered this whole series of events, Jircniv ran to report to Ainz in advance.

Well, this is just my inference after filtering out what Jircniv's true thoughts could have been like based on his circumstances. So I might be wrong about this and Jircniv might have just ran away to save his life, but that doesn't seem to fit his personality.

Jircniv apparently became the very symbolism of evil responsible for keeping Ainz's legacy alive. Eh, if he was able to handle everything and survive until now all thanks to fear of Ainz then even I might just pity him for a few moments.

Fluder was able to detect a tear in space at the location where Nazarick once stood and discovered some sort of magic that could reopen it to arrive on Earth. Hmm, this idea has a lot of potential.

Presumably, everytime I travel to other worlds I will be leaving behind one of these tears in space. I was originally allowed to only bring one companion with me on these travels, which was fine but not ideal.

But if I can use this magic that Fluder created, I can circumvent this restriction and allow for other members of Nazarick to come over as well.

While there were limitations to using this magic, which Fluder will eventually have to fill me in on, the scales have been tipped significantly in my favour provided I use this to my advantage.

Instead of making trips to these worlds into single consumable opportunities, I can use this magic to effectively farm them of their resources and milk them dry of all they have to offer.

I also originally had no plans regarding the New World at all, but since I'm given this opportunity, I might as well try and sow some more seeds of chaos. Hopefully, they will sprout beautifully someday and cause a scenic apocalyptic event after I have no more use for the New World.

Ainz likely won't care if this revival cult ends up taking over the New World. Perhaps he has a different motive for taking me, a pitiful blind and weak little girl along with him into 'hostile' territory. The way they worded it to me was by simply referring to this trip as an outing.

For him, he now has the illusory possibility of meeting up with his friends. Something he cares about too much for him to waste time on quelling a hostile player in another world. Most likely, Albedo or Demiurge advised him to take this course of action to achieve his plans.

Yes, I overheard the maids talking about some of his 'glorious' plans whenever I toured around Nazarick. Plans about recreating YGGDRASIL himself in an attempt to meet his friends decades in the future.

First off all, this was not even the Earth that Ainz originated from. Even if history played out without our interference, there would be no YGGDRASIL or the guild Ainz Ooal Gown. His dream was entirely pointless to begin with.

Even if we assumed this was his version of Earth, his actions stemming from this 'genius' plan would create a massive butterfly would ensure his dreams would never come to pass. His friends might die, or might not even be born to become his friends.

To be honest, beings with high intellect like Demiurge or Albedo should understand this even if they have never known about chaos theory or the butterfly effect. But it is very likely that they are wilfully ignoring this fact in favour of the idea that Ainz is omniscient and knows what he's doing.

Of course, I already knew that Ainz was highly gullible when it comes to matters regarding his friends. This was a fact that I have and will continue taking advantage of in the future. If we add on the fact he had not received a proper education, this plan driven by naivete of his comes into being. He simply did not know any better.

Well, I have shown lots of pessimism towards a frankly illogical plan but I can't forget that we are in the SCP universe. There are multiple SCPs that can make his illogical dream a reality at a mere thought.

I also have access to the various 'fictional' worlds that comprise the multiverse, granted this access is currently limited. Regardless, who's to say that I won't get my hands on some object or ability of a similar nature in the future.

If I do, then I don't mind helping Ainz fulfil his dreams. As messed up as I am, I don't consider myself evil enough to deprive this of him if I have the chance. He will be my biggest backing for a long time, after all.

Maybe I can get the rest of the Supreme Beings, especially my dear old dad Tabula under my thumb as well. I am his 'cute' and 'innocent', daughter after all~.

Hmm, on the topic of other Supreme Beings, I wonder if Albedo has any plans of reviving her killer squad. Hehe, she must be desperate to stop their return. And since my modifications have taken affect, she must be showing some unhealthy yandere-ish thoughts about making me her daughter.

Should I just cutely call her 'mom' and further fuel her delusions? Or make her more jealous by calling Shalltear 'mom'? Maybe I can do it in front of Ainz just so he will be cornered into marrying her since he has basically taken up the role of my foster father. That in itself is a scenario that has high entertainment value.

So many possibilities each that might lead to an interesting outcome. I wonder if I will ever be locked up and experience the 'care' of a yandere. Albedo likely won't do something like that because she is ultimately submissive to Ainz.

But I will likely meet lots of yanderes during my travels, so such a situation is entirely possible. It's something to look forward to and hopefully sooner than I anticipate.

Anyway, out of all of us Albedo should be the happiest about this trip. After all, she gets to go on a vacation with her beloved Ainz and tag her prospective daughter along, fulfilling her dreams.

"Its done, young lady. Should we head out and meet up with Lord Ainz?" Narberal enquired.

"Please wait a moment…" I cautiously turned and walked towards the makeshift alchemy station, pretending I couldn't see, all the while fully embodying my acting skills earning a few pitiful glances along the way.

It was about time I let everyone know about my [Reality Sense]. In fact I plan to let Ainz know once we are in the New World. Hopefully there are some 'kind' and 'generous' revival cultists who attack me sometime during the trip to make the reveal more dramatic after I 'barely' survive.

I proceeded to quickly pick up the vials of potions I had prepared earlier and stored them in my [Inventory]. These potions had barely reached the efficacy of Nfirea's version of the potions.

But there was a distinct difference between the Nfirea's and my potions. In fact, the difference is something I was striving for.

I can now proudly present, the brand new and wonderful Lilith brand of special potions now available in three distinct flavours- Chocolate, vanilla, and assorted candy.

Well…not really assorted, per se. It's currently just one flavour of candy but I won't know exactly which one until I actually try it. Sort of like Bertie Botts every flavour beans from Harry Potter.

Since Ainz put up a ban on my consumption of sugar, I put my genius alchemy skills to the test to create alternate sources. It kinda made me feel like a drug dealer cooking up some meth in some rundown basement and selling it through secret channels. Except these are all mine.

Maybe I can create a magical sugar cartel in another world and really take sugar addiction to the next level. Magical sugar that would topple world order. How exciting!

If I succeed then I can confidently reply to all those who asked me if I had a drug dealing business in my last life just because I was a chemist. Yeah, they were fans of dear ol' Heisenberg.

"Ok, let's go~" Having pocketed all the vials, I smiled and replied as they lead me towards Nazarick's surface where Ainz was presumably waiting.

They had dressed me in a long black dress with a high neckline and long sleeves. The sleeves appeared to puff out slightly at the shoulders. A large red bow adorned my chest and the skirt appeared to flow out from the waist and reached down to my ankles. All in all, I objectively looked quite cute.

By the way, I had informed Demiurge about keeping track of my pet butterfly and welcoming it back once it completed its mission. He should be mildly pleased about the chaos I have caused like an adult demon spectating the playful tricks orchestrated by the young ones.

And even though it's unlikely, I can use this opportunity to test if the mortal fear harvested by the little cutie will reach me in the New World. Just another teeny-tiny experiment.

It didn't take us far longer to reach what I identified to be the ground floor of Nazarick after passing through a convenient [Gate] that either Ainz or maybe Shalltear conjured up. And speak of the devil, both of them were present.

I could make out their reality signatures and unique souls alongside many others. Many of the other NPCs that I had met up with earlier had also gathered here. I haven't interacted much with most NPCs except the few that I usually came into contact with.

The only two I didn't recognise earlier were who I presumed to be Jircniv and Fluder. They were discreetly eyeing me. Perhaps not daring to look at the 'Sacred Child of God' out of fear due to the presence of a variety of monsters.

Albedo was standing next to Ainz, an unnatural grin decorating her face as she desperately stopped the quivering of her wings.

Standing next to her, I let go of the maids hands and after hesitating for a few moments, weakly grabbed Albedo's hand.

This caused her to wildly twitch for a moment before 'calming' down and tightly grasping my hand. She then proceeded to show a smug smile towards SHalltear who gritted her teeth in anger. Of course, I did this on purpose to enjoy the cute response of the terrifying demoness.

"Cough, let's not waste more time. Fluder demonstrate your progress on the path of magic over the years to me. I will 'asses' this thoroughly." Ainz proclaimed handing Fluder some sort of crystal which I presumed to be a source of MP that Fluder will require for casting the spell.

"As you wish, Lord Ainz," Fluder accepted the crystal while bowing and started casting the spell to the New World without delay. I also used my [Reality Sense] to focus on what was going on to try and sense what sort of abnormalities in time and space were occurring.

As the tear in space opening in concurrence with the rapid consumption of mana, I could see innumerable eyes and tentacles beyond it which scurried away in a hurry upon glancing at me.

'I wonder how Fluder and Jircniv survived their journey here without meeting any of these cuties?' I thought but was pulled back to reality as Albedo gently tugged me towards the tear in space following Ainz who had already vanished beyond sight.
