He was on a lotus flower, he represented the present of Buddhism and also controlled the merits of Buddhism. The last Buddha was the Buddha of the future, Maitreya, a young monk. Behind him, a Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures swayed, representing the future of Buddhism and gathering the fate of Buddhism.
