Chapter 354: Whispers of tomorrow

The next Fang awoke to the muted glow of daylight filtering through the curtains, still wrapped around Selene's unconscious body. Her skin, paler than before, seemed ghostly in the soft morning light, though Fang hoped it was just the lighting playing tricks on his mind. It probably was. It was the first time he had seen her in natural light since yesterday. He carefully shifted, not wanting to disturb her fragile form, even though he knew she wouldn't wake. His heart ached, seeing her like this—broken and unmoving.

A knock at the door pulled him from his thoughts. The witch, the same one who had been helping since yesterday, entered, still visibly nervous in Fang's presence. She held a tray with breakfast and spoke in a timid voice. "Alpha, your bath is ready," she informed him, glancing nervously at Selene. "I will leave the breakfast here for you while I clean the princess."
