Beth's POV
"How can he be so heartless? Would Nina be like this if it wasn't for him? What can possibly be more important than her right now?" I complained about Henry leaving holding Nina, who had passed out, in my arms.
Yet we didn't have time to accuse Henry. Aaron helped me bring Nina back to the room. She fell asleep weakly and occasionally talked in her sleep.
Alpha King and Aaron stood at the foot of the bed. Emma's words before she left made us silent. After a long while, Aaron said, "What should we do now? Is the palace safe?" He put his hands in his pockets and stared at Alpha King.
Alpha King looked at Nina and shook his head, distressed. "The palace guards are no match for those fierce rogues and vampires. They can break in at will, just like those hunters in the banquet hall. We have to guard Nina 24 hours a day. She's very vulnerable right now and can't protect herself at all. Her blood is coveted by simply too many..."
