Chapter 20: A Night On The Town

Chapter20. (Familiar Pov)

01. The demon waited patiently, watching, listening and resting. He was tired, Entering through the portal to the world had been exhausting. The demon had never experienced such things as hunger. He found the sensation was unpleasant and didn't much appreciate it. On the other claw, the outside world was much more entertaining than the endless expanse of hell. The demon did not feel in The realms of hell, although demons had a body in the abyssal planes nothing could hurt them there. He was confused at his predicament, The demon saw the boy and felt hate and rage but also gratitude. The first two emotions were common for demons the third was unheard of.

02.He had slept when he followed the demon who summoned him. He could tell the young demon was inexperienced with things like fighting. For some reason that Ardivar couldn't grasp, he felt he needed to protect the boy. Whenever he thought of killing the other demon his soul screamed at him which was Unusual he thought, it had never done that, And Ardivar was no beginner when it came to fights with other demons in the abyss.

03.The demon started to get hungry again, His stomach made weird noises. The first time that happened the demon panicked, he wasn't sure why his stomach made noises. The last time he ate the offering of the demon who summoned him. Ardivar found the item the boy had been eating tasted rather foul and decided he needed something more filling than that. The demon Remembered what that one thing had tasted like, the one with the tough shell and the pointy stick. Ardivar had felt a sensation of something entering him when the thing had died.

04. Ardivar was patient as had eaten another human earlier, he thought maybe the demon boy would bring him some of the shelled things. Ardivar lost his patients and went to find one of the tasty humans a day before. Now his stomach was demanding more of the delicious stuff the shelled thing had given. Ardivar waited for the weakling to fall asleep, he didn't appreciate the light it hurt his eyes although It didn't harm him. He decided he should start training the weak boy. He snuck up behind The boy and reached out to grasp the boy's leg. When the boy yelped and jumped, Ardivar Chuckled and hissed at the boy warning him to be on guard.

05. Ardivar walked over to the corner hissing with laughter. He decided when the light went away he would sneak out and go find some food. Ardivar hoped there were more of those walking piles of deliciousness here. When the light had faded and the demon boy had fallen asleep. The demon cloaked himself darkness and headed for the window, He decided it was finally time for some food.

06.Ardivar stalked across roofs and climbed Down a wall, he spotted 3 of those walking humans with shells. He decided they looked strong and too difficult to kill all three. With his heart racing with excitement, ardivar decided to find something else to hunt. He waited in a dark alley for more walking food to come past for what felt like an hour. Ardivar was patient and after his stomach growled some more a meal finally showed itself.

07.Ardivar spotted the human walking down the road, he silently followed the slow and loud human. The human seemed different from the ones with the shells. With excitement and his stomach growling, Ardivar decided this one would be much easier to kill as it wasn't protected like the others. The human kept glancing around and jogging fast down the path.

08.This was no problem for the nimble demon, he climbed on the roof and followed the human with a better view of his surroundings. When the human reached a building and entered Ardivar chuckled in a hissing laugh. He climbed down the tall building and crossed the street to the other building. He spotted an entry into the building halfway up the wall, Grinning with anticipation Ardivar climbed up the side of the building with ease.

09.He dug his sharp claws into gaps in the wood and stone pulling himself up the wall to the window. Ardivar thought it was ridiculous how these humans left openings in their homes. He pushed open the clear glass and climbed in the building. Ardivar knocked over a tall container that shattered. He hissed with annoyance, thinking his meal would run away. Much to Ardivar's surprise the meal the human didn't run away. The human-made a lot of sounds as the walked up the stairs. He waited for the human to enter the room. The human was carrying something that looked sharp, very similar to what the humans with the shells always carried.

10.Ardivar was blinded for a moment by the bright light of the candle in the human's other hand. The woman froze for a moment upon seeing the incarnation of horror in her house. When Ardivar could finally see he noticed the human was beginning to turn to run. He couldn't let that happen. The demon lept forward and slashed his claws at the human's leg. The human was not quick enough to dodge and got a large gash across her leg. she cried out in pain her fight or flight instincts were telling her that if she didn't fight back she would surely die. The demon had gotten to exited to attack and soon paid for its mistake with a slash across the shoulder.

11.Ardivar hissed at the pain, He of course had no intention of fleeing, He leaned on his back legs and jumped for the arm holding the bright flame. His jaws tore into the tender flesh of the human's arm, She screamed a high pitched, it was a sound that made the demon's ears ring. Ardivar winced and continued his biting he would not be deterred by such an attack. He immediately retreated after his successful attack not wanting to get hit again by the sharp weapon in the human's hand.

12.The flame went out as it fell from the human's mutilated hand. The flame crashed to the floor and went out with a sputter. Now thought Ardivar we can see who will win. Ardivar hissed his grating laughter making the human freak out and scream as she swung the sharp weapon all around. Ardivar was confused until he realized this human couldn't see in the dark. He smiled with glee, He crept around the human who was still swinging the thing for no good reason. Ardivar lept on the humans back and clamped his jaws firmly onto the human neck while holding her arms with his razor claws.

13.The woman gurgled and tried to fight back before she fell onto her stomach. Ardivar gouged his claws into her ribs and chest creating a fountain of blood. The demon thought this development was interesting, Ardivar gagged at the foul taste of the liquid. The substance tasted horrible, it tasted like rocks. Ardivar was confused as to why this human tasted foul. He was contemplating that maybe only the humans in the shells were tasty when the human he was currently biting finally died. A few moments after the human died Ardivar felt his body surge with energy.

14.Ardivar sighed with contentment as he waited, feeling more and more energy enter his body. He watched with fascination as the corps began to shrivel up and lose all of its muscles. The body changed mostly becoming skin and bone in a matter of moments. Ardivar thought that was creepy as hell, He couldn't complain however, his stomach no longer made sounds. on the other claw, he couldn't get that foul taste from his mouth. He was currently contemplating why this human was much less tasty than the other one, When he was cut off by some loud noises and shouting from the outside. Ardivar winced when he felt the burning pain given to him from the human. With his mood, much-improved, Ardivar climbed out of the window and climbed up the side to the roof before sprinting across the roof.

15.He Felt stronger as he ran the power from his food speeding him up. Ardivar smiled and smelled the air there he thought when he smelled the scent of the boy. Ardivar followed the smell of his Familiar back to where they were sleeping. By the time he made it back to his sleeping room with his demon companion, the power from his kill had faded. Ardivar was disappointed at this, although it couldn't be helped. He was upset at the feeling of power leaving his body until he realized he could always go get another snack in a day or two.
