Chapter 47: Afternoon Light

The warm orange glow of the afternoon sun streamed in through the carriage windows as they advanced.

The hours ticked by, and as night fell, Rammond announced that they should stop and rest for the night.

As a result of the recent goblin ambush, they had to delay their journey.

They had originally expected to reach their destination by now. However, the attack left them no choice but to rest and recover before continuing their journey to a nearby village.

To make matters worse, the bandits had left behind a damaged carriage and their dead bodies.

As they left the carriage, Rammond called out to the passengers of Eyehawk Merchant to gather around a bonfire.

They found a good place to stay with trees and short grasses around them.

Takeuchi often thought that Rammond already knew the route they should take. As usual, their resting place always had traces of someone who had camped there.

And somehow, they find logs laid out to sit on and make a fire.
