When I wake up I find myself in an alleyway connected to the main street. People having weird mutations go on about their life through the buzzing metropolis.
The memories, personalities, and now even voices haven't stopped so I check my pockets and my surroundings.
I find a case with a few pills in my pants and a wallet + passport laying in front of me. After taking a pill the different influences in my head start to weaken. After closing and opening the lid of the case the pill taken away magically appears again.
With my mental problems out of the way, I check my wallet and passport I find out that my new name Caedes Homunus is.
I know it stands for bloodbath and humanity in Latin because I remember learning Latin in one of my soul previous' lives.
100% gonna change the name once I'm a little more familiar with this world. With all of this out of the way, I should start to look for my book on alchemy.
The second I think about it, an old book bound in leather appears in my hand. On its cover are the words 'Most basic form of alchemy written'.
Before I do anything else I try to think about unsummoning the book and it happens. After testing a bit I'm sure that my quirk or whatever is to summon and unsummon the book at will.
It will also regenerate all damage done to it previously. If I think about a certain area in alchemy a similar book emerges with titles like 'Basics on metallurgy or 'Basics on auromancy' all books look a bit different but also have things in common like being only basic versions or looking like ancient wizard books.
At any given moment I'm only able to summon one book so no book spamming on enemies.
With my otherwordly knowledge checked the only hurdle left for me is to find a place to live. I thankfully found keys in my shoes with an address marker in the wad of keys.
The addresses in japan are really weird so it took me a few hours to find my apartment but I already know the language spoken here from a soul inside me partly.
The apartment has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a toilet and bathroom in one. I immediatly take a shower. After I'm refreshed I look at myself in the mirror.
Around 1,90m (6.1foot) tall with a muscular body, not too much but still remarkable. My hair is gray while my eyes are red with a slightly above average face. I have some scars mainly around my limbs and neck, they're probably because I'm a human chimera.
While staring at myself in the mirror I concentrate on all my different powers.
1. Alchemy book summoning:
Summon one basic book on a subject on alchemy at a time. This is my best bet at getting stronger.
2. ~4-5 Billion souls
With of these bastards I would've had really big mind and personality problems but I have my infinite magic pills, I need to take every two hours except during sleep. But they have the positive of giving me knowledge. As long as I'm not under the effect of the magic pills I live through their lives or they whisper things into my mind. That's also how I learned Japanese though I'm not gonna withdraw the pills for a long time from now on.
3. Last but not least my human chimera body
I didn't have the time to check everything but it looks like I've got peak human strength, endurance, sight, intelligence, etc... My regeneration is almost unnoticeable and the ability to learn every type of magic can't be tested right now. But I learned that I have some sort of photographic vision. It's not the real deal but when I concentrate really hard on a sight before me I can remember every detail about it, like my reflection in the mirror.
Before I make any plans or try to alter the storyline I should learn alchemy. I use my ability and summon a book called 'Basics on the different types of alchemy. Wich field is right for me'. Like the name says it's there to give an overview of the different types of alchemy and show help me choose to select a field to specialize in.
(Next morning)
Waking up I feel unbelievably good, sure I know how it should feel from the souls' memories but god darn is it nice to feel it with my own body for the first time.
I was up the whole day yesterday researching different fields of alchemy and which ones would bring me the best results and I've already chosen the ones I specialize in.
It's not mandatory to specialize in certain fields but it's helpful if you're new to alchemy. I choose eldritch and chimera alchemy they have other names but those are easier to say.
Before starting I should explain why the show's alchemy was basically shit. The show mostly showed transmutation alchemy and yes that is its purest form but there are hundreds of fields of alchemy different from transmutation.
The ones I chose for example are bio-alchemy and knowledge-alchemy. Bio-alchemy is known for it's usage in making chimeras but it's also used in stuff like Father's seven deadly sins, sure their philosopher's stones are purely made by soul alchemy but their features like Greed's diamond skin or Envy's transformation are only possible because of bio-alchemy.
The second field I want to specialize in is knowledge-alchemy or eldritch alchemy. It's basically deconstructing things but instead of reconstructing them in a different way you make them knowledge. It also encompasses knowledge manipulation but I'm unable to understand that part right now.
I choose eldritch alchemy because with it I'm able to learn things that aren't in my basic book. If I for example deconstruct an alien or the corpse of an ancient being I get knowledge way better than what stands in my books.
Now I'm I need to plan for the future, at least I don't have moral dilemmas with the massacres I'll be doing in my first real life
