Chapter 2: Prologue 02 : MP
Maya Patel was born in Mumbai, India, and grew up in a large and loving family. Her parents were both doctors, and from a young age, Maya was encouraged to follow in their footsteps. She excelled in her studies, and after completing her undergraduate degree, she went on to earn a master's degree in nursing.
Maya's family had always been supportive of her dreams, but they were also traditional in their values. They expected Maya to marry and have children, and were hesitant to accept her decision to move to the United States to pursue her career. Despite this, Maya was determined to make a life for herself in America, and she worked hard to build a new home and a new identity for herself in the land of opportunity.
When the outbreak occurred, Maya was on vacation in California, visiting friends. She was shocked and horrified by the sudden collapse of society, and the realization that the world as she knew it was gone forever. However, Maya was a resourceful and resilient person, and she quickly adapted to the new reality.
Maya's greatest strength was her compassion and empathy. She was a caring and nurturing person, and she quickly found her calling in the post-apocalyptic world as a nurse and healer. She used her knowledge and skills to help others, and her gentle demeanor and soothing presence helped to calm the fears and anxieties of those around her.
Despite her many strengths, however, Maya also had her weaknesses. She struggled with feelings of guilt and shame over the fact that she had survived while so many others had not. As for nervous ticks, Maya had a tendency to fidget with her hands when she was anxious. She would rub her fingers together, or twist a piece of fabric around her fingers as a way to release pent-up energy and stress.
Despite her challenges, Maya remained a determined and dedicated survivor, driven by her desire to help others and to make a difference in the world. Her backstory and personal struggles added depth and nuance to her character, making her a compelling and relatable presence in the world of "Aftermath."
