Lucy Sullivan laughed heartily at the sight of Albert Hudson's awkward departure, gave Samuel Smithson a pat on the shoulder, and held up her thumb in approval. "You're quite something!" she exclaimed sincerely.

Samuel smiled somewhat helplessly, raising a hand to pat Lucy's head. "So, what did he want from our house this time?" he asked her.

Lucy stuck out her tongue. "You know, the old story. He really thinks he's something special. He even wanted to borrow some cloth coupons, food coupons, and grain coupons from me. Does he think I'm stupid? I gave him so much before, I've never seen him pay back a single one."

Samuel frowned; Albert was truly a nuisance. No wonder he disliked him from the first time they met.

"Try to avoid him in the future. I will get back whatever he owes you."

Seeing the look on Samuel's face, Lucy tentatively asked, "You're not going to pick a fight with him, are you?"
