Probably not, but if Candi didn't do this, it would haunt her. She'd have rather tried than done nothing at all.

She shoved the card in her small purse, slung it across her chest, and headed out the door.

The entire drive she stressed over how to begin, visualizing different ways the conversation could go.

What was she going to say? How did this conversation begin? Did she just knock on the door and say, hey, let's talk about your crook of a partner? Or should she start with something polite like, hey, you still look hot as ever?

Seriously, the image in her head would always be of Q in a suit. But Q in jeans and a T-shirt?

She shifted in her seat as she turned into the neighborhood. It would be easier to deal with him if he looked like the man she remembered, and not the one on her brother's doorstep yesterday. There'd been something in his eyes, something that said he got her in a way he never had before.
