Chapter 4: Is it True Love at First Sight? (EDITED)
Matthew POV
I'm still surprised by the sum of money that the people gave me though, I mean, just by itself it can easily cover our family's expenses for a month, I really don't know what to do with this amount of money, since I've never held this amount, certainly not without a way to spend it.
Sure I can invest in an education or my 'future'. But thats stupid, because I don't even know what I want to be, I don't even know if I may end up conscripted in the local army! So I might as well spend the money I have now on something that I think I will enjoy in the present.

Strolling through the streets I begin window shopping, searching for something worthy of this money to purchase, I really hope I find something, our town isn't the largest so there isn't a large commerical district.
I walk by some taverns and cloth stores, I don't really need either so I just kinda glance at them.
I stop for some of the cities finest ice cream that I've always wanted, then got this frothy drink, kind of like Beer but the server says that it isn't, I don't believe him, however I'm not drunk yet, curious.
After a while I run into this store selling electric appliances, curious, I walk in.

Narrator POV
As soon as he enters he runs into some flashing lights, like there are pictures being taken of him, the shy person he is, he ducks and as the soldiers called it, 'Hugged the Dirt'.
After a few minutes, he realizes that the lights kept flashing at the same pace and he was starting to attract some gazes, he quickly gets up and dusts hes clothes.
Looking at the source of the light, he realizes its some sort of light just turning on and off.
Embarassed, he quickly walks into the nearest aisle, he turns around and views whats on display.

Matthew POV
I look at the thing in front of me, its name seems to be, 'Machine', odd...
I stand there wondering what it does for a while until I became impatient and just start walking around looking for someone to ask, surprisingly there are not a lot of workers here to do that.
I eventually find this staff member with a tag named, "Jess" and tap her shoulder, "Excuse me miss, can you tell me what a 'Machine' does?" I ask, slightly softly, I hope she hears me.
Jess turns around and says in a lovely pitched voice, like an angels... my thoughts are broken with, "Of course! Machines help compute numbers, run simulations, or if you are a civilian who just wants some fun, you can purchase some games, right here! At this store!"
I thank her for description for what it is, but I'm not entirely convinced if I really want to get a 'Machine' for just games, I mean, what if it sucks?
I ask her for where I can find the games and she points me to the aisle where they are located.
As I walk down the aisle I see a lot of games relating to the war, these games don't sit well with me probably because they aren't remotely true, and that you can only live once, and in these games you die a lot of times, which is entirely fake [Come on, Matthew doesn't believe in Reincarnation, give him a break].
At the end of the aisle I find some other type of games, they speak of having a large world or a tactical turn based game based on armies of past times [I'm trying to convey RTS games here!]
"Interesting..." I mutter, I pick it up and I also find another game that I like, its a Medieval Fantasy game where you must save the world, though it sounds corny, I take it as well.
Then I take the best 'Machine' they have and gawk at the price, but realize, that I can barely afford it, I chuckle, what did my brother do to get this amount of money!?!?!?

I get home and start reading the instructions [Which I shall not explain cause we all know how to use computers... right..? RIGHT..? >> ]
I then begin to install a Fantasy game and go to bed.

<20:33:04 - Timeskip Approx. 12 Hours>
I wake up to my alarm and look at my computer and see that it has been completed, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I will be able to play until this afternoon.
Still partially sleeping, I walk downstairs and see my brother, "Hey Matt! Where did the money go?"
"I spent it on this thing called a 'Machine', Brother" I reply, he doesn't seem to be mad or anything, he shrugs, I was worried for a second to see if he actually needed the money or not, but I guess he doesn't.

As my brother and I walk to school this girl roughly our age walks up to us, and I don't know why, but suddenly I feel like I'm sucked in by her.
This must be love at first sight....
