Wait, how was this crazy invasion possibly my fault? I'll get to that. 

Now, to not seem utterly guilty of what Dwalinn was assuming I'd done, I pretended to look up, then left, and then right, but found no cracks in the air that could've suggested a breach in the school's barriers.

"They can't have come through the wards protecting the campus. Those still seem to be up," I said. 

"And we're talking wards meant to block undead for real," Saga chimed in. "Mostly to keep the vamps from seducing the prom queens in our school." 

"Um, sure, yeah," I shrugged.
