Chapter 131: Blessings and Curses, Part 2

Okay, so I didn't actually see Grendel from up above. The monster was nowhere near Star-Spangled-Sight's range, which currently encompassed the entire grassy field we'd last fought in. 'Griffin Vision' wasn't Star-Spangled Sight's only mode though. 

"Starlight drowns all but the brightest clues," I whispered the incantation that was instilled into my brain the moment I learned my new spell. 

With a blink of an eye, I lost my bird's-eye-view and found my sight back in its proper place at ground level. However, the world in my vision had been drained of color and all I could see were shades of gray. 

"Groovy," I grinned.
