Chapter 164: A Necromancer with a Heart, Part 2

I drew Liara's spell saber with my right hand and sent it streaking forward in a sideward arc. At the same time, my left hand reached for Hrunting's hilt on my back and began drawing it up and over my shoulder so that I could swing it down at my enemy even if he blocked the spell saber's attack. 

Honestly, I wasn't originally planning to attack him, but putting me under a spell had set me off. Combine this with the fact that I hated the guy for, you know, trying to sacrifice me to the gods of death, and a kind of berserker rage took hold of my senses so that I even forgot that I'd sought him out so he could help me rescue my friend. 

As I predicted, he drew forward, ducking underneath the spell saber's swing to avoid getting his neck sliced. 

"Gotcha!" I growled.
