She had a part to play, but she was confused about how to play this scene. She had never been to a doctor, would he look like how the mortal stories described doctor's to be – thin and unfriendly men with long beards or thick and friendly men with long beards? In anyways, the description was always consistent, the beards would always be long and white. She was not interested in old men with long white beards, she was interested with a brawny man that was in the other building!
"This little brother, are you good to walk? Do you need to be carried…" Kai Zong asked the slumped boy on the table with concern.
"Kai GongZi, not to bluff you, my sickness was as my master said, but today was not as bad as usual. I wanted to take a break and visit my elder sister in the next building. I hardly get the chance to come out and today was lucky that my master decided to be nice and generous to take me out. I haven't seen my elder sister since I was sold to master's household, and I miss my elder sister. She took care of me when I was small until our auntie said she could not afford our living anymore and sold us to different households. Wooohooo" LiHua looked up to Kai Zong, with her mask lopsided.
"Small brother, it is not good to make up sickness to cover your true intentions. But since this is akin to family piety, I will take you to see your sister. Where is she at?" Kai Zong's friendly face shook his head, showed his displeasure of LiHua's pretense but did not show any disdain.
LiHua thanked Kai Zong for being generous and pointed at the building Yuan LeiFeng had gone into. Kai Zong looked shocked and gave LiHua a deep look of sympathy. LiHua looked bewildered and thought the building must be something fishy for He FeiQuan to behave out of sorts, and for this bookworm to look disapproving.
'Just what is Yuan LeiFeng doing there? I want to know!' LiHua thought frantically, eyes looking towards the HuaLou.
Suddenly, there was a loud crash, both scholar and the pageboy looked towards and saw the ceiling of the HuaLou caved in from a force. Different sounds soon followed, from female shrilly shrieks to male screeching shouts. Lots of people ran out in different arrays of clothing, clearly in a state of distress, some only wearing their inner clothes and some had loose clothes that barely covered their bodies and faces.
A white and grey suddenly blocked LiHua's view and she had to push the white view away. Why is the weak human scholar so hard to move like a boulder? LiHua thought and before she could look up at Kai Zong, she could peek sideways to have better look. No more half-clothed people but it looked like there was emergency evacuation happening down there.
The men grabbed their subordinates outside the building and tried to escape the fiasco that was brewing and happening within the HuaLou. The women grabbed the men that ran out with them, and the men did not display tenderness and shook the women off. Instead of crying pitifully, these emotional hardened women just picked themselves up and scratched the hands that shoved them and tried to get on their horses or into their carriages. Everyone was for themselves.
'Was this what they meant "everything is fair in love and war"?' LiHua wondered while she excitedly watched the show unfolding in front of her.
Angry wives and jealous women were a usual scenario in the HuaLou business and the MaMa of HuaLou was more than capable to say acerbic words to keep their male customers and scold the trouble-making women away. And if words failed, force by the burly bodyguards stationed near the HuaLou would be utilized. The business had been stable, whether the country was in peace or at war, so MaMa was as tough as nails when there were any problems happening in her turf, guarding her HuaLou like how generals guard their capital's gate.
However, having an ominous aura surrounding the HuaLou, MaMa could only pale and trembled while she stood her ground, fearing what fate befell on her.
SheLin, ever since he suffered from his skinning, he had honed and improved his camouflage skills almost to perfection. He softened his bones and blended in with the surrounding of ChaLou, mortal eyes would not be able to detect him. SheLin almost hissed out when he saw the little young miss in very intimate proximity with that bird prince.
Aiya, he was of a cold blood breed and his lord's cold anger almost froze his blood ah! He was just an innocent bystander. His blood cooled back to normal temperature when the Lord calmed down and walked towards the young miss's table introduced himself to both He FeiQuan and young miss. It was a brief interaction between the Lord and He FeiQuan when the Lord gave him a secret signal to get QiongQi, that troublemaker tiger to create a disturbance. Finally, a good show coming up!
When he rushed through the dimension, the battle had been won and the army was relaxing in their tents. SheLin went to the usual army camp only to be told that QiongQi went off to hunt. Obviously, the said tiger went to chase after some females, taking the opportunity to slack and run off when the Lord was not in. SheLin just went to the other brother to do the deed. The Lord said to get the tiger, but he did not specify which one right? So long one of them got to the scene and make a ruckus, should be fine.
He grabbed TaoWu (梼杌), who was still napping on the cot and scratching his fur on his chest and dragged him to the mortal dimension. Before they crossed the dimension, SheLin threw out another missive to the laughing comrade brothers who were enjoying themselves and playing dice on the table. They just casually shift their bodies for the dart to land on the table.
The brotherhood was trained together with the Lord and knew at first hand how their Lord worked and execute their task accordingly and efficiently. However, some of the times, even the seasoned soldiers could be clueless and most of the times was the case with TaoWu. When SheLin gave the simple order to TaoWu from the Lord, the poor tiger just looked at him blankly.
SheLin grew impatient: 'How could two brothers be so different? Granted that they were only half brothers, Aunt Tiger, why did you bear that boar a son, now this fool, TaoWu, was all brawn and no brain.'
Since they were running out of time, SheLin just told the naïve cat that the very bad man, surname Yuan, was bullying a lot of females and TaoWu was to call him out to save the day. Usually TaoWu would buy this kind of bluff, but after spending lots of time being picked and teased upon by his comrade brothers, and furthermore, it also could be the combination of extra napping time, that made him smarter by a few points to be suspicious of the snake. SheLin was more exasperated by the suddenly a little smarter TaoWu than a dumb TaoWu, he hissed out, "Yuan LeiFeng was trying to kidnap the young miss!"
This got the even-tempered, TaoWu, from a nice kitty to a ferocious tiger that he was to be. TaoWu might be simple but you could count on him for being loyal and stubborn - the young miss was their Lord's precious sister and who dared to bully her, would face the wrath of the Lord's people. TaoWu was enraged that their young miss was being bullied by this surname Yuan!
