The funeral ended peacefully. There was no unpleasant incident.
Declan was relieved that the guards had kept the entire ceremony private. There was no one else in the graveyard besides family members and the priest.
The thing that made him disturbed was Earl's absence.
"Didn't you inform Earl about the funeral?" he asked, leaning laterally toward Francis.
"I called him yesterday," replied Francis. "He said nothing. I expected him to show up."
"Hmm…" Declan hummed shortly, his chest heaving with worry.
He had not gone to check on him ever since the incident because he was too occupied with making plans with Alexander. He now began to think that he had ignored him.
Earl had gone through a shocking incident. He shouldn't have been left alone to deal with his pain.
"Okay, take Mom and Dad home. I'm going to check on Earl."
Declan exited the cemetery and drove straight to Earl's house.
