Declan had not praised his brother for his good work in Bali. He finally had time to appreciate him.
"You did an excellent job. The Bali project has been a success. It is unfortunate that you had to go through a mess."
"Do you call it a mess?" Derrek exclaimed. "It was dangerous… deadly. Okay? I almost lost my life." He cast a gloomy glance at him and mused, "I wonder how the delegates of the hotel escaped while I and my team got stuck there."
"They were involved with Jeremy."
It came as a shock to Derrek.
"Those bastards," Derrek fumed. "The hotel was running at a loss. It was going bankrupt. We are saving it by taking control of it. Why did they betray us?"
"Fear and greed drove them to do it," said Declan. "Jeremy offered them a large sum of money that was more than enough to cover the outstanding loan balances. In addition, he threatened them. That's why they took you to this fancy but not too crowded restaurant built in a remote area."
