Acceptance

Chapter 1: Prologue

Emily Mendozas is an eighteen year old who has no interest in love. Her father was a cheat. When she saw what this did to her mother, she decided that she never wanted that. So, Emily thought it was easier to never love, than to love, be hurt, and recover. There were many quiet nights in the Mendozas house hold, but even more that were filled with her mother's tears.

When Emily was eight, her parents got into an accident. Her father died of severe injuries, while her mother was put into a medically induced coma. Because of this, Emily was raised by her grandparents.

With them, she lives in a farmhouse isolated from the rest of the town. She quite enjoys the peace and quiet, and spends most of her time in the prairie. When she isn't gazing out over field of horses and daffodils, she is studying for school, or tending to the farm.
