Chapter 1: CHAPTER ONE: THREE PACKS
Three brothers and their wives lived together in perfect harmony. They looked out for one another. They were their own pack. Until one chaotic day that changed it all. Elijah; the eldest of the brothers, caught his wife in bed with the youngest of the brothers; Eno. He got furious and almost wanted to rip out the heart of his youngest brother until Eythor; the middle brother intervened.
"Brother please, forgive him for he knows not what he has done" Eythor said.
"He's a grown man!" Elijah retorted shoving his hands deeper into Eno's body.
"Elijah please, I beg of you. Spare his life" Elijah's wife; Novelia pleaded.
"Kill him! He has no right to live after what he has done" Shaylae; Eno's wife declared.
"Elijah, if you have any compassion in you, please I beg you...have mercy...please" Eythor pleaded.
"I'm...sorry, brother" Eno said as he struggled to speak.
Elijah took a moment to decide whether he would kill his brother or not. Eythor watched him keenly and so did Noviela. Elijah slowly took his hands out of Eno's body then he quickly shoved them back in and removed his heart.
"No!" Eythor and Noviela chorused. Noviela broke down in tears. Mina; Eythor's wife watched in shock. Shaylae smiled in fulfilment seeing Eno's heart in Elijah's hands.
"You monster! You killed him!" Eythor shouted as he went over to Eno's lifeless body.
"I would have happened again" Elijah said in his defence.
"A word is enough for the wise" Eythor retorted.
"Our brother was never wise" Elijah replied.
"That serves him right Eythor. Noviela deserves to die as well, don't you think Elijah?" Shaylae suggested with an evil grin.
"Don't be silly Shaylae, the girl lives. Don't treat her badly just cause she's the youngest of us all" Mina demanded.
"Everything you asked...everything! I did everything you asked without complaints. I was your perfect wife, I was your perfect toy, I was your perfect maid, your perfect listener, you gave me wounds, scars, sores and what did I do? I put on a facade. I left my home, my family, because of you. I have sacrificed a lot because of you and yet you killed your own brother because of me" Noviela retorted hitting Elijah on his chest over and over again. Elijah caught her both hands and held them up in the air.
"Yes, I slept with your brother and I will always love him a thousand more than I have ever loved you. Just so you know, this is not the first time Eno and I have slept together" She continued looking straight into Elijah's eyes.
"Noviela, stop" Eythor demanded.
"We've done it multiple times under your nose, Elijah. Do you know why I never stopped going to him, because I love him and he loved me! He treats me with respect, he adores me! You're just a good-for-nothing bastard, nothing less!" Noviela confessed in anger. Elijah's eyes turned red and he threw Noviela away. She hit her head on the wall and fell unconscious.
"Elijah!" Eythor screamed.
"I want nothing to do with this family" Elijah declared.
"Neither do I" Shaylae said.
"So that's it?! Ten years of togetherness's worth nothing to you?!" Eythor asked angrily.
"Ten years living together with a backstabbing brother, a young infidel for a wife, a very forgiving brother, the eldest woman in the house and Eno's revengeful wife? It's absolutely worth nothing to me" Elijah said as he retired to his room to pack his stuff. Shaylae followed him.
"I want to leave with you... I'll forever be loyal to you" Shaylae said trying to convince Elijah to leave with her.
"I said I want nothing to do with this family" Elijah replied sternly.
"I'm all you got Elijah. I never opposed the killing of my own husband. Eno hurt you, so did me. Take it as destiny bringing the both of us together. Plus, you said your wife was an infidel, I can give you the one thing you've been seeking for these past years...a child" Shaylae said as she rubbed her stomach. With this, he was already convinced.
"Pack your things...you're coming with me" Elijah said. She did as she was told excited. They left the house but before that, Elijah left a warning.
"When we cross paths, it will mean war. I hesitated in killing Eno... I won't next time, nor will my descendants"
Elijah went on to form his own pack. He and Shaylae had a boy and later on a girl. Their pack soon grew strong. Their children kept on reproducing so did their children's children Their pack was called the Crescent wolves.
Meanwhile, Noviela found out she was pregnant with Eno's child. Herself, Eythor and Mina had vacated the house where they used to live. Eythor and Mina decided to see Noviela through her pregnancy. When she had given birth to twins; a boy and a girl, they moved on without her. Eythor and Mina had soon created an empire of wolves. Their children reproduced so did their children's children. Their pack was called Markarian wolves. Eythor declared that if Noviela's pack were to come in contact with his own, it won't mean war but be said that it didn't mean that they were going to be one.
Noviela managed to see her children grow up. She saw them through and together, they managed to create a pack of their own. They were called the Arcturus wolves.
And so these three packs/kingdom were formed all united by blood but divided by an unprecedented betrayal. The kingdoms thrived knowing who was the enemy and who they could trust as an ally. Later on, the five founders of these kingdoms; Elijah and Shaylae, Eythor and Mina and Noviela passed on. Their legacy still lived on, nothing changed. The Crescent wolves still meant war whenever paths were crossed and the Makarians and Arcturus were still allies. But soon, it was all about to change as an untold prophecy was born.
