Chapter 78: The Attempt

Hera nodded at Albert knowing she had some things to attend to. One of the maids that worked for Stephan had brought some news to her. And that required her attention quickly. Hera wished she had gone to see Stephan that night he had a major breakdown but oh well, it had passed and she had to move forward. She watched as some guards accompanied Albert to where the king was. As she looked at the short man's back and head with a grimace, she wondered if she was doing the wrong thing by not following him.

"What could happen?" she muttered with a shrug as she called her head maid while walking to her private chambers. She needed to get ready to go somewhere. Also, what the nobles said disturbed Hera's mind like no man's business. Who had whispered in Clifford's ears that it would be a good idea to reach out to the Moon Oasis? Hera had had to bring the meeting to an end even though it had been a fight. There would be a showdown with the nobles very soon – Hera could sense that.
