Chapter 28: 28. Me

Ever since Miriam told me that the werewolves were after me, I felt like a fattened cow awaiting to be slaughtered. I considered starving but I was not about to risk my health because of them.

There had been a lot of tension in the castle as the talks of a possibility of a traitor went around. I was in my room all say but somehow, the news always got to me.

I stayed in my room all day because I dreaded seeing Kai. He always humiliated me when he saw me.

I was also ashamed to admit that I thought of him when I gave myself pleasure in the bathroom. Other times I imagined it was Zeus' fingers when I remembered that day in the field.

Oh God, I was going crazy. But as long as it remained my little secret, I was good to go.

I was a woman with needs and I was going to satisfy them without shame. Just because I was a virgjn didn't mean I was green in other sectors that were pleasure related.

Any person with a phone must had watched porn at some point. Whether it was for fun or it was because they wanted to see what people saw or because they wanted experience.

But the main reason people watch porn is to get off and as your body grows, it needs that intimacy.

I blushed just thinking of the dirty videos I watched in the shower at home when my sister was not around.

I shook my head to attempt to get my thoughts in order. I had a habit of trailing away.

The door opened and Athena came in. She looked like she had aged over the past few days which was impossible since she was a vampire. There were stress lines on her forehead.

Just for a minute, I let myself feel sorry for that but it faded when I remembered all she had put me through before I became Kai's mistress.

That must have been a cover up for why I was really in the castle. It explained why she was worried for me when I got hit by a stone and also why Kai and I had never had sex. I was a tool for some kind of awakening.

" How are you? " She asked.

" I'm fine, " I said and she nodded her head. She then gestured for me to follow her and I did that very fast.

Athena got irritated very easily. With all the stress she had, I didn't want to test her patience.

When I went outside my room, I found people gathering. Kai stood some distance away from me. He leaned on the rails and looked at the people below.

It was some kind of meeting.

" To the new slaves, welcome. I suggest you get comfortable in your new home. I am sure Athena has already told you all the rules. We are here today because I want to give an ultimatum.

If you are the person responsible for the mayhem the werewolves caused, just turn yourself in and I promise a slow painless death. If I find out who it is on my own, this castle will shake with the sound of your wails. That is a promise. "

By the time he finished, I swore I could smell fear in the air. Even the guards next to me were shaking.

I thought that it felt more like a school parade but more intense. Well, I hoped that they caught the person who sold vampires out.

I didn't like to be in the middle of a war between species. I had a feeling someone would talk soon. They always did if threats were involved.

I turned to go back to my room since the meeting was over but Kai called me back and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

Without speaking, he turned and walked to his room. He expected me to follow and I did. I valued my life more than I did my pride.

I just hoped he had not called me over just to humiliate me. I wouldn't put that past him.

When we got to his room, I closed the door behind me and faced him. I met his stare with his steely one to show him that I was not scared of him.

I would not let him intimidate me.

" I wanted to inform you that starting tomorrow we are starting self-defense classes. These are important skills you need to have in case you find yourself in danger and there is not one to protect you. " He said.

That was the last thing I had expected to come out of his mouth. However, I had a big problem with it. How was self defense going to protect me from a supernatural being?

As if he read my mind for an answer, he gave me a knowing look.

" These self defense classes are aimed at fighting supernatural beings, " he explained.

" Who is going to be teaching me these classes?"

" Me. "

He gave me that smirk that annoyed me. The one that told me he would make my self defense classes miserable. I desperately wanted to wipe it off his face.
