Keisha bit her lower lip, and her eyes fluttered nervously.
"I-I'm sorry." She apologized, not able to look Everly in the eyes.
Everly locked her gaze on her, and the memory of the day she was shot flashed through her mind.
"Why?" She asked in a soft voice. "Why... did you shoot me? Have we met before? Have I ever offended you?" She inquired, unable to make sense of it.
Why did the guilt-filled lady standing in front of her shoot her?
She is more than sure that she has never met her before talk more about offending her, so why?
She wondered, and Keisha slowly lifted her head to look at her.
"I…can explain." She said and Everly stood there staring at her, waiting for her explanation.
"So many things were going wrong in my life, and I was scared. There was so much that I wanted to atone for, and I was afraid that I may not even be alive to atone for it." She began.
