Chapter 306: The alchemist

The silence continued as they walked to his home, his safe zone. Sometimes zombies appeared but he got rid of them quickly. He was used to it. However, discovering that he had a deadline made him think twice. He had to drag Adelaide with him since she was an alchemist. He calculated how much time he spent in the Plaguelands and the difference in his health bar; he concluded the moment he opened his eyes, the poison was acting and the system was silent about it. In fact, it was silent about everything.

Stephan sat down on his wooden stool, his elbows on his knees and his mouth resting on his knuckles. Adelaide looked at him the whole time expecting him to say something, she even tried to make the room lively but nothing worked so she turned to the other two, conversing with them. He was thinking deeply about his situation. It was severe. His chest was becoming stuffy. If he was going to die, why wasn't he warned? Why did the system wait till Adelaide mentioned it?
