The Horned Beast
I had finally found Sean, I ran out of the cave and asked Lake for help, we carried Sean out of the cave together.
I laid Sean on the ground and gave a sigh of relief as if my mission was complete, I still had to bring Sean back safely.
I stood and looked towards Lake, he was giving off a bad impression on his face as he stared at something, I looked towards the direction of his eyes as I dropped to the ground with sorrow.
I was speechless, it was as if I had lost someone precious to me again, how could I not have noticed it, he seemed lighter while we were carrying him, the trails of blood leading outside the cave were Sean's blood when he was carried. There Sean was on the ground, lying in a pool of blood, his legs were gone knees downwards.
It made sense, the awful stench of blood in the cave, the horned beast had eaten off the adventurers' legs to avoid them from escaping it's cave, unlike the other adventurers Sean was still alive and breathing, all he needed was immediate treatment.
There was nothing I could do now, apart from bringing out the bandages in my satchel and placing it round his waist to cover up the cut. I was about to burst into tears as I was placing the bandages but I didn't have time for that, I needed to find a way to save Sean. . . .when I remembered monkey girl, in her monkey form she could travel really fast and take Sean to the hospital in the town.
She was just arriving in the open grass field, she hasn't gotten used to her human legs, I could tell because of how sore they looked.
"Monkey girl, take Sean to the town's hospital as fast as you can", I shouted pointing towards Sean.
Lake thought I had lost it, how could a little beauty like her be fast enough to take Sean to the town, wouldn't it be better if June and I went.
*Poof*
Immediately, monkey girl transformed into her wild monkey form. Lake was absolutely stunned, I guess he never knew his so called beauty was actually a vicious wild monkey. It seemed she had grown bigger than before but none of that mattered, I placed Sean on her furry back and using a rope from my satchel, I tied Sean to her. In the split of a second, she had zoomed off, it seemed her speed had increased along with her size. With this, I could finally be at ease, Sean would get to the hospital in time and be saved, all I needed to do was get out here quickly.
When I turned to Lake so as we can leave the forest together, I saw that he had already drawn his wooden sword ready for battle. I could hear it too, the clanging sound in the cave was getting louder, it meant the beast will soon be out of the cave with whoever was fighting with it.
I drew out a small knife from my satchel prepared to fight also, at this rate, running will be futile, the beast could track our scents and follow us to the town, that would even be a worst case scenario, our only choice was to stay and fight, I hoped fortunately that the knight should finish off the beast but after thinking of the nightmare, I had second thoughts, if we were lucky, the knight might have been able to deal some heavy damage leaving Lake and I fighting against a beast at the class of common, common class beasts were easy to be defeated by me.
"I'll hold it off while you run", Lake said smiling as if he had made up his mind to sacrifice himself for me.
" Don't be crazy, if you go down, I go down with you", I said back at him.
*Swoosh*
The knight fighting the horned beast was swung out of the cave, he rolled on the ground till he used his sword to stab the ground causing him to cease rolling and regain his strength. Following the flying knight was a black clawed hand extended out of the cave, soon it's whole body emerged from the darkness within the cave.
There it stood, the . . . . "horned beast".
